Not sure if it's been reported:

New Orlans gets Asik

Please post if more is added at anytime.

fritzfreddie 06-25-2014 09:22 PM

Brian Windhorst ‏@WindhorstESPN now
Rockets will also send New Orleans $1.5 million cash as part of the deal.

Bars and Bar 06-25-2014 09:22 PM

Here we go!!!!

howethegreat 06-25-2014 09:22 PM

wow the rockets are really trying to get both melo and lebron

EMD34 06-25-2014 09:28 PM

I love it for the Pelicans, now AD won't be forced to play C anymore and a front-line of Asik and AD is crazy on defense. AD's rebounding numbers will definitely be going down though, haha.

Rhyster66 06-25-2014 09:31 PM

Damn Houston prepping for Melo.
Damn Houston prepping for Melo.
And Lebron..

fritzfreddie 06-25-2014 09:44 PM

Just saw on an ESPN article

'The draft pick included in the deal has protections. It will go to the Rockets if it falls into a range between the late lottery and the 20th pick, sources said.'

No word on how long that could push the pick out for though or if the protections get lighter.

CP3toOKC 06-25-2014 09:44 PM

It's confirmed
Also NO's 1st round protected pick, is it for this year's draft or future?

Rhyster66 06-25-2014 09:45 PM
And Lebron..
No way that the have THAT much cap.

2015 (they traded this year's pick to the 6ers)

rhigh2390 06-25-2014 09:45 PM

Started praying tonight that I dont end up seeing a starting five with Howard, Melo, Lebron, and Harden in it.

One rumor is that they'll trade Harden :( to NY and then sign LeBron.
Started praying tonight that I dont end up seeing a starting five with Howard, Melo, Lebron, and Harden
They won't have all 3 of Melo/Harden/LeBron, best case they have two of them.

mrmojorisin71 06-25-2014 09:53 PM

Now to find somebody to take Jeremy Lin....hoping philly since all the have is mcw

Brekbc9 06-25-2014 09:54 PM

I don't want to lose Harden..no way. I'd be happy with Harden/Howard/Lebron.

Lin's in his last year. Shouldnt be too hard.

bballcollector 06-25-2014 10:06 PM

With Omer Asik in the process of (apparently) being dealt to the Pelicans, there is growing speculation that Jeremy Lin will be the next player dealt by the Rockets as they attempt to make a run at LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony.
However, several web sources have indicated tonight that the Rockets will only deal Lin if one of the big names agrees to terms with Houston. Therefore, if LeBron or Melo aren't going to Houston, there's a very good chance Lin will be back with the Rockets next season.
Damn.... Melo/Bron/Dwight/Bevereley/TJones
On the other end, could you imagine the defensive disaster of a Calderon/Harden/JR/Bargnani/Amare line-up? Teams may not average more than 5 seconds a trip before scoring a lay-up/dunk/wide open 3.

They wouldn't have gotten rid of a starting caliber center for a protected first if they didn't think they were gonna land a star...Jeremy Lin is as good as goon assuming someone wants to flip the 15 million dollar bill

This is a joke No way lebron goes to houston to play with howard

rookies 06-25-2014 10:19 PM

WOw pelicans got murderer on that. Asik is free agent next year and is very overrated on defense. Also makes 12 mill or 15 I think?

Giantrobot 06-25-2014 10:46 PM

Good, I was tired of hearing overblown Asik trade rumors. He's an ok center, nothing more.

JerseyCP3 06-25-2014 11:36 PM

Great trade for NO I think. Yes the salary sucks ass, but They will be a playoff team no doubt this year. Asik gives them great rim protection. Letting AD roam and we didn't have to give up Anderson(yet). Plus, we have trade bait to get us back in the first round and possibly get that pick back next year. Gordon is the logical choice to be moved. Tyreke should be starting along with Jrue. Great young athletic team on the rise. Hope it all comes together this year!

indyguy 06-26-2014 07:46 AM

Asik just got some new head shots done too
