Fan Packs
So i know that fan packs are when you send a letter to a baseball team and they send you stuff back. Do any of you guys do it? Do you use mail or e-mail? and what are some good teams to send letters or emails to? can be minor league
|
Its been four or five years sense I have sent for them but the Red Sox and Yankees were the best I got. I got a couple autos from the Tampa Bay Lightning.
|
I send to the Red Sox every year and they send me some dirt supposedly from the field. The other ones usually send stuff mostly for kids, never tried sending to minor league teams.
|
The reds are pretty good usually get something decent from them ive got a shirt from them before lanyards team photo and these hof photos of like barry larkin and few other reds. The brewers send u photos and i got th is scratch off thing and won a free ticket to a game. i like the orioles and tigers u usually get a 4x6 or 5x7 of a players thats good for getting signed. you can email any of them and get a fan pack only teams u have to physically write are the braves cubs and yankees. red sox one year sent me dirt a nice keychain and a signed 4x6 of francona. nfl the falcons are good i got a big huge falcons flag from them and luggage tags and stuff. i usually try all the teams once or twice a year bc it only takes 10 mins to email all of them.
|
I sent one to the Brewers last year. I got stickers, schedules, team photo, and some other misc items. Nothing special.
|
Do you just request a fan pack? Do you have to send postage? I've never heard of doing this. Sounds interesting
|
just go to mlb.com go to each teams page hit contact us and then u can usually click general info or something on that page and a page will come up where u put ur name and email in and a brief message just tell them in the message u want a fan pack and give them your address if you copy and paste it takes like 10 mins to do all the teams
|
Do they give Post-it Note that have the team logo on it?
I like post-it note. |

Ok thanks. I'm gonna have to do this this evening |
the only teams i have ever got post its from is the buccaneers and chiefs
|
I did this for a couple years for a number of teams. Never got anything better then some large cards and a pencil or two. Figured it was a waste of time and until someone actually shows proof of getting something decent, I'm going to mark it down as exaggeration.
|
I actually just found out about these last year haha. So I had to send in to the Cubs. A couple weeks later I got a package that had stickers, schedules, a couple player photos, a magazine and a personalized thank you card. I will now be doing these every year because they're awesome!
Anyone know when the best time to request them is? I sent a postcard in a little before Spring training began I believe... |
I enjoy getting fan packs. I have gotten good fan packs from the Rome Braves 2 years ago and they gave me good stuff such as bam bam sticks, pins, bracelets, programs, posters. College teams give out good stuff too. Yankees give out excellent ones, as well as the Reds. NFL teams do too like the Packers and Chiefs and Patriots

Contact Teams - My Fan Packs Both of these links help a lot. The top one is newer and only shows successes, however the bottom one has a lot more leagues. I have collected them and found the best strategy is to just choose a group (AL or NL, entire league, NCAA division, etc.) and send to every single team in it. Do this until you run out of addresses. Most of the stuff is junk but it takes about 15 minutes per 30 teams and it is fun just getting stuff in the mail that isn't a bill. |

It may take a while though, when I did it, it took like 6 weeks |
Defeats the whole purpose of a "fan" pack if you're sending them to the Red Sox AND Yankees.
|
I requested a fan pack from the New York Yankees on 3/26/12 and received it on 12/22/12
Here is what I received. 1 Photo Frame Magnet Set 1 Bumper Sticker 2 Bookmarks 2 Pencils 1 Key Chain |
FYI for the Cubs Fan Pack - I received a response...
The Chicago Cubs want to thank you for taking the time to write! We are lucky to have fans from all around the world and because of this we want to know where our fans are from. Fans interested in receiving a Chicago Cubs Fan Pack are asked to mail in a postcard from their hometown with their name and full address printed legibly. Postcards should be mailed to: ATTN: Wrigley Field Ambassadors Wrigley Field 1060 W. Addison St. Chicago, IL 60613 A Chicago Cubs Fan Pack may contain a pocket schedule, team literature, pictures, stickers and other Cubs memorabilia. Please note in order to make sure that all fans receive a fan pack we can only send out one fan pack per year per person. We appreciate your understanding. GO CUBS GO! |
I got an email from the Phillies this morning in response to my request for a fan pack. They told me they weren't shipping out of the Philly-area
|
Off the top of my head, the Cubs, Yankees, Braves, Rangers, Blue Jays, and most minor league teams require either a postcard or a SASE.
Also, if you have some sort of military email address, use that, teams will be more likely to send you a fan pack and some will send you special items (I know the Orioles suck at sending out fan packs but I have seen them send out those high quality camo hats to people in the military). |
Actually got a fan pack from the Indians today just emailed them last week. Got Indians folder, big magnet, 5x7 of scott bailes, pocket schedule and a pack of small cards of Indian greats sam mcdowell rocky colavito al lopez ray chapman herb score addie joss and al rosen and got a crossword puzzle and a couple things to color
|
Just got back a fan pack from the White Sox and the Rancho Cucamogna Quakes (Class A Dogers). I got a white sox sticker and some other stuff but the RAncho Quakes fan pack was also really cool. I got 4 baseball cards, one of which is of Scott Schebler and the others of mascots. Hopefully he makes the HoF one day
Edit: 11/13- Definitely send to The Indians!! I got a folder, a sticker, some Indians trivia, word puzzles, schedule, and some mini baseball cards of Indians greats. |
