2013 Gypsy Queen,2011 Lineage, 2010 Obak

Opened 1 of each yesterday, the Obak was a just for fun. Did alright, I love the design with abstract backgrounds as opposed to being on the field. Got a nice Heyward mini numbered out of 50, a Luis Gonzalez auto number out of 75, Bob Horner Auto #ed out of 75 as well, plus 2 others (4 autos per box) were two irrelevant players who fizzled out a long time ago (former prospects). I was ok with the box, got it for the price and hits. Never again tho.

2011 Lineage was to fill in for my time away from the hobby.
I was not happy at all with this, through my research I watched or read of Fausto Carmona Auto on card being pulled, well guess what I got in my first pack... Carmona on card auto. awful. 2 packs later, bam, John Smoltz mini jersey relic. Got some sweet Diamond cards of Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, Bob Gibson. The one real cool pull, was my Miguel Cabrera Black Back Lineagraph card numbered out of 99. Confusing at first because that back states its an experimental card not intended for resale and to be sent back to topps.
I did get a Chris Sale rookie, one of my fav players. Very happy with that, as well as a Chapman rookie. A cloth card of Halladay and Heyward as well as miggy and ryan howard pop up cards. I still havent completely scoured the cards looking for other hits. But they were there.

I saved the Gypsy Queen 2013 for my lil bro to open with me. First pack, Willy Peralta of the Brewers, eehhh. After going through 10 packs or so, we netted only that auto, and a Profar RC which was nice. I rip another pack, and I notice a shiny card in the middle. Gypsy Queen is very Clean cut, no sparkle or shine. I knew it was something big. BAM Jean Segura Magenta Press plate 1 of 1. As he occupies SS for one of my fantasy teams I know hes playing well. We wrap up that box with a Jay Bruce framed mini Jersey, Wade Miley Auto, and Ian Kinsley Jersey Relic. Also a Dickey Green boarder mini #ed out of 99, Wainwright blackborder, and Ellsbury blue Boarder numbered out of 499.

Last week in anticipation of this break i scooped a gypsy queen blaster. 8 packs, 18.99 with a 5 dollar target coupon couldnt go wrong. Before the car started I yanked a Bumgarner Relic (Orange Jersey looks sharp with the card design) Mini Wood Ben Revere 5/5, Kimbrel Blue Boarder #ed/499 and a Dylan Bundy Mini RC. As i sort through all the cards Ill update, this is my first post, I stopped collecting for 6 years but after Hurricanes Irene and Sandy (Long Island Native) I lost 90% of my collection. I recently started up again and am glad I have.

Welcome to the forums, as well! I like Obak a lot, one of the more under-rated products out there.

You've done well with the Gypsy Queen :) Let me know if you'd like to do any trading, I'd be interested in the Smoltz relic and the Kimbrel blue border.

Welcome back to the hobby! I'm always paranoid my collection is going to get destroyed somehow, glad to see it's certainly possible to bounce back from it! Love the product choices, all right up there in my personal Top 5 for collectibility/fun to open. Ginter and Bowman are the only ones left out ;-)

Yeah I did a ton of research before I made my purchase, determined those seemed to be the best for hits and fun. I wanted A&G but im just waiting for this years instead. As for Bowman, I usually get blasters at Target or Walmart. But yeah if you keep all of you cards together get something air tight to store them in, and if you live near water, put them in something easily portable. My problem was I had more cards all over the place. We never thought the water would reach the places it did.
