New Scanner HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z
 

Hey guys,
Haven't posted this yet, but I got a brand new scanner, printer, copier, fax, etc. for Christmas. Does anyone else have this one that they use for scanning their cards??

The lil bit that I've used it, it works real good. It seems to take a lil longer, but I heard that's cause I'm using the Wireless. Maybe I need to plug the USB cord in?? Does anyone else had experience with this for scanning their cards??

Btw...I was reading about other users that use some DPI setting to scan the actual card?? Is there a way that it will just pick up the card by default and only scan that??

Now I just gotta put it to work and get some new scans done for my cards! LOL

I got a Epson Small-in-One Scanner/Printer/Copier and it is a blessing to print wirelessly. I tried scanning with my scanner software that came up with the computer, and it worked wonders, the scan was really quiet, much quieter than my Canon Canoscan LiDE and it does have a feature that crops the picture automatically for you. Simply use "Auto Mode" and it crops the photo for you and saves it automatically. My EPSON scanner was really fast via USB. I'll have to scan using the network drive later on. Scan quality is poorer than my Canon, but it runs much smoother than my Canon.

The higher DPI (dots per inch) you scan at, the clearer your image will be. 200dpi is standard, I use 600dpi for nicer cards I want to sell or show off. Also, the file size will be larger with a higher dpi.

Wow! I scan my cards at 300 DPI and they are perfect for ebay! Those must be heavy image files!
