Best vintage card YouTube channels?
I already follow Sammy Thunder and Chris (BaseballCardcollectorinvestordealer) but are there any others out there that are good?
|
He hasn't done videos in a while but Bluejacket66 has some great vintage and pre war videos.

Clemente Collector

RoughCuts-VintageHobbyTalk

Mangini Collection is a must follow
|
The Mangini Collection,Sammy Thunder,GeezMikey and Breakout Cards.
|
Since I created my YT channel, I've started watching and following Orlando at Collector's Dream, Southern Collector, Darren from ReturntoCollecting and the 4 Collectors channel.
|
All the channels listed are basically the same channel right now with all of the collaboration. I have a small channel of close to 800 subscribers and I got to know a few of these people. If you create a channel, chances are you will be quickly incorporated into the community.

I think my channel is pretty good. LOL |
Cardboard Coach Neal
The Mangini Collection Quite a few others that focus on vintage! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Unsubscribed to Beckett. Would rather watch Geoff Wilson at this point.

I love the collaborations. Not just the same ole show pickups, show footage, mail days, grade reveals, etc. I've gotten a small channel going. Been up since about March.

My favorite YouTube videos are the PSA reveals where they show how terrible and inconsistent PSA is with grading vintage. These videos pop up all the time thanks to my YouTube algorithm.
Here's one from 3 days ago that was especially interesting and more evidence that PSA has no clue how to grade vintage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Lf_cnSe0z0 Wow. |

The PSA grades were correct. I have encountered 1978 Topps Football with surfaces that are horrific and here is an example of one of his cards. 100% graded correctly. This card looks way better than a PSA 3. He tilts it showing surface too: No way that many all come back PSA 3s. Typical PSA inaccurate and inconsistent grades. |

I stopped using them, not because of the cards were graded inaccurately, but because they were grading them accurately after they destroyed them by bending corners. If he missed that Joe Greene, there is a strong possibility the other cards has creases. Edit: I took a close look at the cert image and that OJ has serious issues. You can even see it from a heads on view. I also saw the damage that matches the cert # from the video. We can agree to disagree, but for vintage even with that surface, it's not a PSA 3.
This is a PSA 3: Same surface (you can see the surface issues in the black Red Sox area of the top-right, but also it has rough corners, centering issues, edge issues, you name it. That's a PSA 3. Not that OJ card or the others merely from 70s card stock surface, but with sharp corners, no stains, nice centering, etc. if the OJ is a PSA 3, then this Teddy ballgame card should be a PSA -2. :D |

Here is a SGC 3 I have with the same surface issues. Is SGC wrong as well? These 1978 Topps have brutal surfaces for some reason. I have tons of raw cards that look horrific as well. Seems like apples and oranges to me, but again, we can agree to disagree. |
I like this guy's channel
His "Why I Don't Grade Cards [PSA, SGC, BGS, TAG]" video made some great points, especially for vintage collectors. Worth a look https://www.youtube.com/@PhilliesBaseballCards |

Want me to bring up the cards you posted and show some of your SGC 7/8's being trashed? That card would be a 6 to 7 with a good surface. SGC allows a lot of rough cuts. |

Worth a look
I am in the process of selling all of my graded slabs, except for cards I love and cards over $500 raw. I think most of us are fed up with grading, especially with the priority of Pokémon and mystery packs. I will use SGC as long as they exist for pre-1952 Topps and CGC for everything else they have slabs for. Things like Tall Boys will go to SGC. All my PSA slabs disgust me and are being sold. |

I'm not sure why you are continuing this and it's ok to disagree. I probably know 70s football cards more than another sport/era, and I'm aware of rough cuts. This ain't that. Those are edge nicks, not a cut. Haven't you seen all the 70s Raiders and Chiefs cards I've submitted over the years to SGC in the SGC thread so we both know this stuff pretty well? :) Here's the same treatment on the OJ card by comparison: On the OJ card, the edges are clean and the corners are sharp, unlike the Klecko card. The Klecko card has trashed edges all around the entire card and a top-left corner that's worn. There's definitely a mark on the OJ card in the top green borders area, but the Kelcko card also has white marks all on the surface on his face, in combination with the edge wear and corner issue. But the edges and corners of these two cards are apples and oranges, I'm my opinion, but again, I would just suggest we agree to disagree. PSA totally graded these cards poorly in that reveal, and I've seen so many similar reveals like this that this is just the last one I watched 3 days ago. If you think these are accurate grades, that's fine. Not sure what the issue is. It's ok if we disagree. |
