Durant to Rockets

For stuff

I’m on vacation so hard to type it all out on my phone at the bar

Jalen Green and #10 to highlight

Bosoxfan5990 06-22-2025 11:46 AM

Nothing burger. Durant is washed and doesn't make his teammates better.

asujbl 06-22-2025 11:47 AM

Everyone on Twitter saying that Green won’t be a Sun for very long

Brobocop 06-22-2025 11:55 AM

The five second round picks made me laugh. What are those worth, realistically?

ninjacookies 06-22-2025 11:56 AM

Huge if 2018.

Houston helps fill their perimeter void a bit, but have maybe a 1.5 year window with Slim Weaper turning 37 before season tipoff. Also have to wonder how much fire he still has left. Seems to have been completely indifferent to Phoenix being trash last year.

Suns instantly 300% better defensively with Brooks.

Green definitely going to get re-dealt since he's already a poor man's Dbook. Gets his one and only big contract before he fades off into complete obscurity. Hope he's smart with his child support payments.

Cavs16 06-22-2025 11:57 AM

Building around Amen! I will miss Brooks, he is just a great teammate and the type of player you love to have on your team

Sounds like they don’t want Brooks either. They want more picks for him

Definitely could see that. Not sure if it's the best move for Phoenix since they haven't exactly been great with their recent drafting. They need some kind defense to build around, because right now they can't possibly be any worse.

Disagree, he gives us exactly what we need which is pure scoring even if he can't contribute in other places

As for losing Jalen, I feel bad to break up this young group of guys since they all came up together and he's been here since day one but at the same time his contract was gonna be bad if he couldn't improve this year and he had such a bad performance in the playoffs

Agreed

Just what Twitter is saying. They wanted the theoretical like 10 picks for Durant (the Giannis thing on Twitter)

So they took 2 guys they could flip as they do have value. They aren’t just toss ins

Si. Props to Phoenix for starting the blowup process and trying to undo the 10 years damage incurred from 2 'superstar' trades.

Houston could be interesting, but I'm still not sure if that roster really jumps out from the pack when it comes to the wc. We'll see.

Shout out to the most obnoxious fanbase in recent memory for their upcoming years long rebuild

Maybe package then in future trades or package to get a late 1st round pick in future?

ThatGuyPal 06-22-2025 12:28 PM

Durant feels like he’s following a bit of the Melo path now (who is one of my fav players of all time). Prolific scorer who would be a cornerstone to build around but now just kind of floats around to diff teams without much fanfare searching for a ring

FatButcher 06-22-2025 12:30 PM

Phoenix is doing the right thing, not sure I have any faith in the front office to execute it in the draft.

patchgenie 06-22-2025 12:37 PM

he found out at fanatics fest. the suns Swiss cheese defense wasn't going to win anytime soon anyways.

Bosoxfan5990 06-22-2025 12:38 PM

He doesn't make the Rockets a title contender. Hence, nothing burger.

oldgoldy97 06-22-2025 12:39 PM

That will put Houston over the top just like Harden did.

oldgoldy97 06-22-2025 12:40 PM

Everyone gets excited for Durant for a few months into his tenure.

Now if they can just get Curry and Draymond.

They made the 2 seed with great defense and below average scoring

Now they add KD who improves the scoring greatly

Again I disagree but we'll see what happens

eastbayak 06-22-2025 12:45 PM

Here's what I wrote nearly 2 months ago: "Rockets have a promising future, just need to make a few roster changes. FVV is expensive but shows up, Amen T is $$$, Sengun is mentally weak but still talented, DBrooks is annoying AF but a good teammate, JGreen is overrated as hell."

And the Rockets did just that, improved their roster without losing anyone significant, quite impressive.

They needed a reliable scorer (as seen in the Warriors series) and got it.

If healthy, they'll be a dangerous team IMO. I'm also high on Amen T too.

They traded 2 starters for 1. Does Jabari or Tari move into the 5th spot? The obvious issue is that giving up Brooks makes the defense worse, but maybe not if Tari takes his spot.

Nomad 06-22-2025 12:50 PM

I really missed Durant in his prime. I memorably saw the first 2014-15 Warriors ring in an open air barbecue in Negros Oriental. But missed the next couple series, wasn't really following sports at that time.

I do understand the Kyrie Irving stardom thing now having watched the Cavs-Warriors 15-16 Game 7. Clutch is clutch. Interesting to hear in the presser Nesmith also watched that in preparation for today's game. I am guessing Durant was still a year or two away, on the Thunder?

Losing the leading scorer and a glue guy antagonizer isn’t significant?

What’s the starting five now?

KD
Sengun
Amen
FVV

Then Cam? Jabari? Eason?

Their window is small to make noise.
