Why???

Man....

Even setting aside the licensing which they don't have, I am not a fan of this design/theming. "Nightball..... moonfall.... midnight...." whuh huh??

Even if they had the licenses, the only product they released this year that I thought was nice looking was the flagship release, which they did for Chrome and Sapphire. I thought those were great looking. The rest, not so much.

What a terrible concept. Makes no sense, but about 90% of what topps releases these days makes no sense. It's all just a money grab at this point.

It doesn't make much sense but it doesn't bother me either. I like the whole Sci-Fi vibe, that Daniels card has some Twin Peaks/Stranger Things stuff going on. The Jerry Rice auto featured in the link looks pretty cool. With 3 autos I'm sure this will come at a high price. I could see myself looking at some of the singles where the absence of logos isn't too obvious.

I like it better than what I saw in Cosmic and Finest.

This one feels very Leaf-esque. I understand Fanatics/Topps wanting to get in the game but it feels like this one is not going to move the needle at all. Designs are lackluster.

It’s like Star Wars meets the NFL.

So, the "Nightball" font is definitely emulating Stranger Things, and I guess thats fine in terms of intellectual property. The "Moonfall" card has a very similar font from the posters for the actual movie "Moonfall". I wonder if there is any copyright issues with that one.

Looks awful but on the bright side it looks better (and it's cheaper) than Topps Resurgence and Topps Cosmic. Did they hire someone from Leaf Metals team?

During the final years of Topps Football in 2014-15, you had random releases like Fire, Strata, and Valor.

This release is so in that same vein. That's not a compliment.

Now we get everything they jumbled into Composite as stand alone releases.

Nope, not at all

It looks like an insert set, not a full release. Hey if people like it, cool. I guess without the license they have to think outside the box. Hopefully next year stuff like this doesn't get a chance.

Two of the absolute worst football products put out was during that period too.

Topps mini Chrome football. Hate that product with every fiber of my being

Strata and Valor came out in 2012

Topps Field Access. Worst product of 2015 imo. Maybe ever.

I actually liked the product compared to regular 2014 topps chrome where it was printed to the moon.

That was a pure sticker dump product. Had guys that were already out of the league in there.

It's just the same templates they're using for basketball. Art director's should be canned for laziness imo

I honestly hadn't noticed that since I don't follow basketball product, but I am sure you noticed this year's Chrome and Sapphire are the same as 2024 baseball's design.

So yeah it looks like design re-usage will be the norm going forward.
