0-1 in the playoffs again for the Lions! *Insert Crying Dan Campbell Gif* |
Awesome to see Grid finding so much more time to post now that the season is over. Glad he stopped hiding during that 0-10 stretch. :coffee:

I think the Packers take the division.
0-1 in the playoffs again for the Lions!
*Insert Crying Dan Campbell Gif*
Campbell has to be the worst coach in the NFL (who wasn't fired already). Dan Quinn a close 2nd. I was truly hoping to see Dan "Gamble" face a good team in postseason and faceplant with bad calls (like they used to lose the Bills game with 10min left!), yet they lost to a mediocre team in first game of playoffs instead. It would be hilarious if the team ever trumped him and just kicked a punt or FG when he pushes them to do that dumb spit. ...early 2025 predict: Vikings 11-6 Bears 10-7 Lions 10-7 Pack 7-10
I think the Packers take the division.
Huh? Their RB is very high miles. Their WRs are constantly hurt. Their secondary is suspect in a division of good/great QBs+WRs. Their budget for FA is basically nil. Their QB is not terrible... but likely the worst or 2nd worst one in the division. An above average coach and a few cold home games is about all Green Bay has these days. |
Abbreviating words, that’s worked out well for others in the past.:coffee:

A physical back for sure, but nowhere near the traditional falloff benchmarks. He should have two good years left physically. -Watson is consistently hurt, and Doubs had concussion issues this year - always scary going forward - but they're not in as bad as shape as you're alluding. I'd like to see them use a pick on a burner, and maybe add a vet in free agency. There is need here, but they're not terrible. -Secondary hinges on Jaire. I'd like him to be traded, unless you could guarantee me he plays 15+ games. If he plays, between him, the emergence of Carrington Valentine, and the return of Evan Williams (who was looking AWESOME pre-injury), they're only needing depth. If he goes, yes - they absolutely need a top notch corner in the draft or FA. -They're middle of the pack in terms of cap space. That is before any restructuring, and they have virtually zero key guys up for FA this year. They'll be able to afford a player or two. -I'm less high on Love after his year two regression - but I'd take him over Williams, McCarthy is a huge unknown, and how much will Goff suffer without BJ? Year 3 will be key, and the team will follow his trajectory for better or worse. Not saying you're wrong - they very well could end up in the 7-10 range. But I'd bank on them staying in the 10 win mark. |

He actually had a higher QBR and RTG this season compared to last. |

Unfortunately, I can see the Packers fighting for the North crown. But would you take Love over Williams even when salary is considered? |
My early rankings. Have to think the lions still rule the north especially getting players back. Packers should still be good enough to tow the 2nd spot. No clue what the Vikings do at qb. Bears are well the bears. Maybe it takes a Lion to get the Bears on the right track? I hope so.

But would you take Love over Williams even when salary is considered?
Great question. I’m not sold on Williams becoming a top 10 QB, but he absolutely showed flashes this past season. I’ll very, very hesitantly say yes…if only because Love has learned when to bail on a play and avoid devastating sacks. But I also wouldn’t be stunned if 12 months from now I was racing back to this thread to delete this comment. :D:D |
Wow a newly-appearing Vikes fan coming in hot! Must have a lot of confidence in JJ as their starter?
Vikings have won 13+ games with Kirk and then Darnold. I don't think it's a system that needs a hugely talented QB.
Lions have a lot of player talent but a goofball coach who just lost both OC and DC. Pack are ok but don't spend FA, so player talent is worst of the division. Bears are the biggest mystery going forward. They're all average teams or above... we shall see. We can agree it's prob toughest top-to-bottom division in the NFL besides AFC West. |

Josh Jacobs is 26, Watson is constantly hurt, not their WRs, they just had a couple of guys get hurt in the one game everyone was watching. The secondary is fine, if/when Jaire returns healthy, it becomes a strength. Where did you get your budget info? They have more than $60 mil in cap space before the annual contract restructurings. I would take their QB over anyone else in the division but to each their own. |

Also PS GB is going to have 25-50 million in FA this year so yeah guess that is nil. Love the worst QB in the division? Stop smoking that Lutefisk. |

Well we'll just have to see, won't we? I'm not worried about replacing either. The key guy is Holmes. We'll be OK. |
Glad your wife is doing well, but it's really sad to use that as an excuse for hiding only when your team sucks. Just own it - in 2024, the Bears and Cryleb were a punchline all season long. Bringing your personal life into this thread to avoid a ribbing is certainly something...
Yes, I will own it. I didn't post in the NFC North thread, or any thread very much. Because I was hiding. Even when the Bears were 4-2, and Caleb was breaking league and team records left and right. Not because my wife was too sick to do much of anything, I had to work from home to take care of my 2 young kids or anything else. You got me! I have been in this forum for over 15 years. It takes a sad pathetic little man, to throw shade at the situation I was in. You have outdone yourself. On the bright side, I think its funny that a Lions Fan wants to use "Cryleb", as if that's catchy or something. Yes, he once cried off camera after a tough loss back when he was in school. Unlike a tough guy grown man & head coach, like Dan Campbell bawling in front of the national media to end each and every year. |

I'm already drinking the Kool-Aid after yesterday's presser. |
