Auction apps

One of the toughest jobs in our hobby is to keep track of all the auctions running from the various auction houses. With so many different platforms, it is getting almost impossible to follow everything.

I was wondering if anyone had found a good app which combines the listing from the various auction houses into one practical place?

No, but it's maddening to keep track of all the auctions at all times for fear of missing a nice card.

Great idea, but I doubt anyone puts it into motion as it feels like the type of thing developed as a companion piece to an auction house, but why would Goldin or someone put money behind it when it would basically also promote the competition? Worse could have similar cards be cheaper on a competitor.

Alt might be the closest thing currently. If you search for a card, it will show you all active listings including eBay / PWCC / Goldin with a link to the respective page to bid, and incorporates them into its pricing tool.

Cool except...it's Alt.

Do you need to give them any personal information to get their comp data?

Who cares about the auction houses.....given the buyer surcharge they add on to the final price, you end up overpaying most of the time.

I think I can count on one hand the number of cards I've bought from an auction house over the years....

David Yoken at collectable.com used to provide an app like this. It was shut down in 2019. I think about building something like that pretty often.

If had the capacity to build one I would. Just think about the first mover advantage on an app like this. It would soon become the main tool for most collectors and that means that most auction houses would want to sponsor it too.

The app I mentioned was shut down due to a lack of profit. I was puzzled by that, as I had similar thoughts as yours.
