What's going on with this Jordan card?

Is there a reasonable explanation for this?

I noticed a listing on eBay that looked weird, specifically the slab. I didn't think the number on the flip matched the style of slab the card was in, so I looked up the cert on PSA's site. The top two images are from the eBay listing, the bottom two from PSA's cert lookup.

Was this a reholder or something? What am I missing?

I don't see any difference. Just one image taken at a slight angle.

Are you referring to the line that goes straight down through the right side of Jordan's face and body and the spots on the arms on the PSA scan?

If so, my assumption is that it could have been a reflection on the PSA scan (I actually think they use a high end camera).

Edit: to make note, I have seen strange artifacts that can sometimes show up on the PSA images vs how they are received in person. Lines and dust, etc.

The top 2 images look to have the PSA logo Cardboard Gold sleeves added to protect the slabs.

That's it. Thanks! That logo is what was throwing me off. I didn't realize it was on the plastic sleeve, haha.

The card had no red flags I could see, but I didn't think newer slabs had that logo. Jeez now I feel silly.

Thanks Blowout, you all rock... especially newcoke!

PSA scans most likely done on a flatbed scanner while the seller's pics were taken with a hand held camera at an angle.

Yeah, this appears to be the same card/slab. The listing is a photo taken in a PSA/Cardboard Gold plastic sleeve and taken at an angle with poor lighting. The PSA "scan" is a high res overhead light that offers better color contrast.

Thanks to both of you, and everyone who responded.

I feel silly for not realizing the logo was on the plastic sleeve. Like you, I couldn't see any red flags and the card looked good. It was the slab that threw me off... because I'm too dumb to realize the sleeve had the logo.

I see now, and may very well be a bidder on the card. I thought the card was legit but wanted to be sure. Sometimes I overthink things.

Big smiles, thanks for clearing it up for me. :)

I think you're right about that line. The card looked legit from the start and that line looked like an imaging defect, not on the card or slab.. As I stated, I was thrown off by the sleeve...omg haha.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, I could see that throwing someone off. Typically people don't post pictures of graded cards in sleeves but some do.

Haha yeah, my mind went to a weird place immediately. Instead of wondering whether that logo was on the sleeve, I started thinking about the flip being swapped, or all the crazy stuff coming out of China lately. But the card looked good and I couldn't spot a difference between that one and the one from PSA's site. Obviously I was missing something, but I didn't expect what I was missing to be so simple and obvious.

I guess sometimes I need someone to point out things that most people realize right away. Thanks! :)
