2024 Topps Heritage Mini This Year? Yes!
Thought this needed it's own thread. As many were prognosticating, we will have a mini edition of Heritage baseball for the 1975 design.
Product Desc 2024 Topps Heritage Baseball Mini Street Date: Wednesday, May 1st Checklist: https://www.topps.com/media/pdf/MLB2487-2024ToppsHeritageMini%20Baseball-Checklist.pdf |
Minis have been in heritage for forever. Them being left off the checklist pointed to this being a separate product. And these were a big thing in 1975. So fully expected this.

If it's a one time thing to honor 1975, then sure. But please don't make this a recurring yearly thing. Too many things should have been a one and done and instead just become the latest watered down product and turn from something cool into an eye roll

Product Desc 2024 Topps Heritage Baseball Mini Street Date: Wednesday, May 1st Not an April Fools unless Americards is playing with the release date list or Topps is having fun with us.
It is not a joke, but they said it is supposed to be an online release.. |

Exactly :)! If this is the year of the mini ( replicating the full size cards ) and non-recurring, it’s a great nod to the original ‘75 Topps / Topps Mini Product. |

i hope they make it, as we predicted in the 2024 H thread
also, they announced that Pete Rose will have autos in 2024 Bowman. could be an april fools thing |
Knew it. There was no way they were going to let this opportunity pass by.

Topps: "We listened to our customers. That's why we're making them pay extra for the thing that should have been part of the main release." |

Does this mean they are getting rid of the mini /100 this year in the regular Heritage set? I just checked the checklist and don't see it there, but want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

They made a stand-alone product people will want. This will please far more customers than making minis exclusive /xyz cards inside the regular release. |

I'm pumped about a standalone release where I'd have just been alright with them popping up one a case or so. I much prefer this option. |

Yep. I have not hit a mini in Heritage in about the last 10 cases. Last year from 4 cases at the National at exploited prices, none. 1975 is a popular design so this move will allow collection of the set at a more reasonable price even if the cards are not numbered. |

Bad take.....yes it was "part" of the main release, but the odds of pulling one were so astronomical that it was a very tangential part, in that the only way you could build the set was via EBay, a long and tedious process. Whereas by making it a stand-along product (at least for this year), it will be much easier for people to build sets. The real question is what Topps will do next year....will 1976 still be a stand-alone product, or will the minis return to being inserts in regular Heritage. |

Making them very hard to pull was obviously anti-collector. |

They've always been comparatively hard to pull....but with the number of mini's fixed (i.e. 100 cards of 100 players, i.e. 10,000 cards), the odds have decreased as print runs have increased. Where Topps really screwed collectors a while back was with base chromes, which started out as being 19xx and then were switched to 9xx, decreasing supply by 50%. In the early years you used to be able to pull 3-5 chromes per BOX, now you're lucky if you pull 3-5 per case. |

Fanatics throws collectors a bone just often enough to keep some engaged. |
Has anybody confirmed this?
Have not seen any mention of it anywhere online other than this thread.... |

With so many issues with regular heritage, who's excited about this?
Probably $60 per box. 10 cards per pack. 12 packs per box. Look for 1 white bordered variation, 2 base card short prints, 2 insert cards, and 3 base card short printed parallels per box on average. |
will sell out!
|
The shop where I picked up S1 & Heritage on Release days this year reported being offered one case of this, direct. Haven’t asked my regular LCS but I expect the same there.
