Always one of my favorite releases each year.
|
What's the price point on this release generally? I've never purchased before, but may this year.
|
Feel like this is another product that has run its course... virtually the same year after year. Somehow still 16 products to be announced to match last year's number. Not even a single try at any innovation this year.

I’m with you. Beautiful cards. |

Blowout promises that the Boxes once again carry a suggested retail price of $200. |
Obsidian is one of my 3 favorite sets. Boxes are tough, but when you hit, it is awesome.
|
Great product to scoop up singles of.
|
Is there a checklist for this available yet?
|
Aesthetically always one of my favorite releases, but there is a 0% chance I am buying a box this year. I have to save my money flushing for the Optic toilet.

Watched a few breaks and this is garbage. 2023 is for buying singles, almost all product is 10% ROI

Out of every football hobby release after Prizm, Obsidian has dropped the least from "presale"! Only down 25%! Most other products are dropping 35-40% on or a few days after release date. Couple with it that at release boxes are probably being broken at 30-35% over "presale" or "market" price and you have a recipe for the worst form of gambling on earth. Yet the morons still keep buying in. Is there any other business on earth that lists products at a presale price and virtually every single time they are available days or a week after release at 25-40% lower somewhere else? For sure no artificial manipulation going on here. |
I'm generally not a huge fan of these personally, but the Orbital insert design this year is absolutely stunning. A heavy emphasis on the etching without looking sloppy.

I actually think 2022 FB actually has an 'orbit' theme with the diecuts and all the circles. 2023 more busy. The holo in the center does look cool and a throwback to some 90s cards.

Tanner McKee?
Tanner McKee?
Going to be a tough competition with Will Grier. I actually saw someone this week who bought a Grier card and saying great investment. I forget where. I actually prefer McKee as the backup over Pickett. |

Exactly. Having a bunch of products to follow when people are focused on the draft now doesn’t help. |
I’m in the minority of course, but I LIKE the design of Obsidian. It’s unique and you either dig it or you don’t. These are sharp looking cards and I’m surprised singles of this product don’t hold better value longer term.
Are sealed boxes overpriced? Of course they are! Nothing panini football related isn’t. But relative to other chrome sets this stuff isn’t printed to the moon with no retail in the wild. Again cool designs on base, inserts, and hits. |
I like the look of Obsidian. But man, what is with this product? Just too high of expectations of it's value. I saw so many breakers yesterday lose their ish on their chat about bids not being high enough for the product. One guy was literally yelling at the chat and belittling them. It was entertainment to see him lose his audience and them turn on him.

Who was the breaker? |
Who was the breaker?
Sounds like Boomo but his audience is more of the Leaf/Sage/ Wild Card crowd, so it can't be him |

This is common with several of the Whatnot breakers. They act like they are entitled to profit off of every break at the expense of their customers. |
