2023 Update has been a flop. Topps ruined it by leaving too many big name call ups off of it. No point in making a sapphire version.

But shop owners had to buy at least 1 case of 6 products that were already released
Topps Series 2 Hobby Case
Topps Complete Sets Case
Topps Holiday Mega Box Case
Topps A&G Hobby Case
Topps Update Hobby Case
Bowman Chrome Mega Case
and the shops that bought these were allocated 1 hobby case of Update Chrome Sapphire
so not sure if this will be released on Topps.com or not

Interesting. It was not on the MC list so that should not be expected. Would be nice to get a shot but oh well.

Just talked to the LCS and they are not biting. We will probably see these on the website on Friday is my guess.

Flop for the flippers? Sure, who cares.

In several years patient collectors will enjoy the set knowing they saved $ at release by not paying tribute to the flippers.

Except for the downstream benefit of bringing people into the shop, the profit from that Sapphire case is not worth getting stuck with the rest of that junk.

Most of the product was discounted except for the A&G, so hopefully, the price of boxes are coming down...

Back to guaranteed autos in boxes. Going to be epic but at what cost? Ohtani Sapphire Selections. Topps/Fanatics is making a play.

Much like TCU for autos they seemed to repeat most of the good TC autograph subjects, albeit in an inferior, stickered card. Plus a load of new bums.

3 parallels a box? Wonder how high the numbering goes now!

Lol they ruined update with the hobby format and now the contagion has spread to sapphire
