but hey, you can pull a Johnny Manziel!
|
Full run of Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers autos, as much as those are valid knocks against it those are two big value adds (whether you care for em or not, they'll sell very well)
|
Young and Stroud are yesterday’s news.
Arch and Quinn are the next big thangs. |
Never understood why anyone would want college uniform cards. Seems it's such a small thing that the prices are never worth what they charge for the product.
|
I said in another thread I’m as big a college football collector as there is. I usually buy multiple cases of high end collegiate. I’m NOT TOUCHING this years so that says it all.
I highly doubt this would reach the floor, but even at the floor when you have 3 of top 4 QB missing autos and other schools having airbrushed pics without logos (Georgia Kentucky Miami Oregon Houston et Al) forget it |

Because some people feel college is way more fun than NFL. Better colors, Bowl Patches, better chances to pull good names. Lots of factors. Immaculate helmet stickers are one of my favorite even if they are generic. Fun product for people who like it. I'll buy the crap out of this over it's NFL counterpart That being said, any FOTL product is an overpriced scam for 1 parallel that nobody cares about. |

If you looked at the most popular sports teams, schools like the University of Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas Longhorns, USC ETC. Are all right up there with the Cowboys, Yankees & Lakers. There is certainly a market for NCAA cards. The only question is, how long you can keep pumping that well. Are ND fans going to keep buying new Brady Quinn cards each and every year? Not many will. They are more interested in Sam Hartman stuff right now. Would most football collectors rather have a James Harrison signed Steelers card, VS a Golden Flashes card? Certainly. I cant see small schools like Kent State bringing enough collectors in to buy this stuff. Its a balance, and as long as you arent making 10 college sets a year, featuring the same older players over and over again, it seems to work. |

Why? Because I love college football more than I do the NFL. I collect both. In my experience generally better “value” comes out of college products because it costs less. |

Because people enjoy college football? |

This is a great point. I collect UC Berkeley but have zero interest in pro uniform cards of alumni. I loved being able to pick up Cal guys like Davis Webb, Kenny Lawler, Daniel Lasco, Chad Hanson, and Trevor Davis in older Immaculate and Flawless product. They are among some of my favorite PC cards. But Aaron Rodgers (and Keenan Allen to a lesser extent) have basically been in every UD or Panini college product since forever and I've basically lost interest, especially as designs don't change much. |

Can you imagine being in ACC? Wild times |
It's hilarious (and sad) that BO has the hobby boxes on pre-sale for $700 :)!
Still trying to pretend nothing has changed and sentiment hasn't done a 180 |
Sold out at $466.67
|
Most boxes were purchased above the floor as it sold out within seconds at $466.67

Yep, I am much more of a Pro guy than college football. I still fully collect WMU players and especially in their college unis. The one good thing about having 50 sets a year is that there is likely something that is catered to every collector out there. |
If the big 3 believe their hobby presale price is anywhere in the vicinity of "market value" they must have ended up buying almost the entire print run of FOTL boxes.

I don’t know but it’s bound to be bad lol. Many Bears fans like myself are optimistic about life in general but pessimistic about Cal sports. I would love to watch Cal play ACC games but it seems like ACC expansion would do more for Cal and Stanford than the ACC as neither program moves the (football guy) needle to help compete with other conferences that have strengthened thru realignment. Plus Stanford seems to have more independent options and may end up preferring that path so even if the ACC offered, IÂ’m not so sure Stanford would accept. I think Cal ultimately gets left behind in realignment and I wouldnÂ’t be shocked to see our football team eventually drop to FCS like UC Davis. Cal admin has also historically not wanted to rub elbows with the Grand Canyons of the world so joining a non P5 like the WAC might not work. |
This brand proves that there is such thing as too thick of cards
|
but hey, you can pull a Johnny Manziel!
Maybe if this was 2014. But it isn't 2014. Manziel is a bust and coke head. I still remember when I purchased a BGS graded Johnny Manziel/Mike Evans Immaculate Dual On-Card auto #'d /10 dirt cheap a few years ago, pre-Covid for around $75 bucks. good times |

I've often wondered why people wander into, and post, in topics which they have no interest in. Then I remembered I'm on Blowout. |
NEWS FLASH: earlier I posted why I won’t touch this set anywhere near current presale values.
I saw two FOTL boxes ripped. Panini has done the ABSOLUTE UNFORGIVABLE to completely trash this product beyond repair. What did they do? They got rid of ALL, let me repeat, ALL on card autographs. In 2019 almost ALL were on card autos, starting in 2020 that was reduced to mainly top RPS rookies having on card autos but at least across 4 or 5 subsets. Now let me introduce you to IMMACULATE football with ALL STICKER autos. Seriously I could cry as a die hard college collector. This is so so bad even by Panini standards. You have GOT to be kidding me. Sorry for the rant but holy sh!t wow |
A sticker done right is ok. A sticker slapped on a “high end” card as an afterthought is ridiculous.
