SGC crack ‘n sub to PSA results
Had this Julio SGC 9 that I just wanted to have in a PSA slab. All my previous SGC crack and subs to PSA has resulted in equal or lesser grades. I was fully expecting a 9, but was pleasantly surprised to see this when the grades popped today. It may have been a surface issue. I forgot to wipe the card with micro fiber cloth before I sent it in to SGC.

I remember that one! Do you think it surface issue…? Or just wildly differing opinions?

I don't sub to PSA but having subbed a lot to SGC, I have definitely just gotten a dubious grade here and there. This was my first attempt to rectify it but just cracking and resubbing. Dimple on the back is all I could find. Had another 10 with one, too. Common on some BB'21 parallels. |
I just cracked a SGC 10 to send in to PSA and found a fingernail type indention, so I won't be sending it in, ha. I probably should have looked it over closer before cracking.

Why does it look like a different card in the PSA slab?

You thought that too?! I honestly had the same feeling when I saw it. My guess is because of the scan lighting? I can post a in-hand picture when it arrives. |

I thought my SGC7 Don Hutson (55 Topps) was successfully crossed over when it hit Assembly, but I was wrong.
I feel like cracking and submitting to PSA would be better, but I don't want to lose my SGC7 in case it doesn't work. I feel like there is 'pop control' because this was a beauty of a card. Is Cracking and Subbing viewed differently than Crossing over? Thanks |

Thanks[/QUOTE] If you have a minimum grade set on the crossover at or above the current competitor’s grade it’s likely to fail a crossover (I’d say 1:8 or 1:10 would make it). And even if you do full crossover without minimums it’s highly dubious, I sent in 20 HGA slabs for crossover with PSA and all but one came back a lower grade (most PSA 8 or PSA 9)… cracked them all out and resubbed raw and all but 1 came back a PSA 10. PSA definitely thinks their 💩 doesn’t stink and has drastically different results with crossover vs subbing raw in my personal experiences. |

PSA knows their slabs have been monetized so why cross the slabs of other companies so they can earn more? |
