Donruss Holiday Disaster
 

My sons pulled their saved up allowance to buy a box of Donruss Holiday…my oldest got one yesterday for winning his basketball championship…didn’t get much, but he liked the John Metchie Sweater. However, today they didn’t even get the Rookie sweater that shows one per box. I know it says on average in small print, but a kid sees that and thinks they are going to at least get a memorabilia card. To them it doesn’t even matter who it is. But to think you are going to get one, and not is sad for a 5 and 10 year old. $28 for a box is a lot for a kid…when it says one per box, that is a selling point for them. Sorry for the long rant, but they were so excited and kept waiting for the memorabilia card to come.

Don’t be greedy looking for a guaranteed card :rolleyes:

Greedy would be hitting a Downtown in one blaster and expecting another.

Dont trust anyone, life will will be full of disappointments and then you die.

That's why it says [i]on average[/i] and NOT guaranteed... sorry but average does not equate to will have.

a couple years ago, i did not get a sweater card out of a blaster of holiday donruss and i filled out a missing hit request on the website and they sent me one a little while later. i think i had to submit a pictue of the UPC on the box and my receipt

On average ='s guaranteed? Also what would quality assurance have to do with it? What if 9 out 10 boxes have one and they got stuck with the one that didn't? Somebody's always at the bottom holding the stick, and this time it was them. While I agree greedy probably isn't the term to use, you probably shouldn't assume there is one in the box. Masking the issue in guilt over a child not getting something they really wanted is ridiculous. They gambled and lost, life lesson learned.

I did the same thing out of a regular box of 2020 Donruss and got a Henry Ruggs jersey card. So..... yeah, monkey paw confirmed.

Unless the lesson was to get bent over and take it. Kudos for not.

Sucks for your kid! Maybe just buy him a couple on ebay to make it up for him? Tons of them for $2-3 shipped.
