Nolan Ryan Strikeout King Variation - 1991 Upper Deck Heroes Nolan Ryan Auto
 

Just wondering how many people know about this card and whether or not you think it is historically significant.

In 1991 Nolan Ryan signed 2500 Upper Deck Heroes cards. However on 25 of these cards he also inscribed the words "Strikeout King". This essentially created the earliest 1 of 25 numbered autographed card in the history of The Hobby.

The Strikeout King variation cards are numbered 100, 200, 300, etc. Pictured is an example of this card numbered 1100 out of 2500, or essentially 11/25.

I would be interested to know your thoughts on the rarity, historical significance or even value of this card. Has anybody ever seen one? Does anybody have one?

Here is the back of the card. Apparently you can tell if it is legit by the shape of the hologram. The legit autograph inserts have a hologram in a diamond shape like the one in this picture.

There are other cards that came without an autograph that have a hologram in the shape of a home plate. There are some of these that Nolan Ryan actually signed with a blue marker. However these are not part of the 2500 inserts and they are not numbered. You can tell for sure by the hologram on the back. Diamond shape = legit. Home plate shape = Not a legit part of the original autographed inserts.
