How far will Mike Trout's prices fall in 2022?

See question

They will rise, again. Trout is back, Angels make the playoffs.

Dang, how did you comment on my thread before I finalized the poll question and options lol.

I'd say this is as close to bottom as you will see his prices from a performance related standpoint. The unknown here is the impact of inflation/monetary policy/geopolitical events. If I were to predict his prices to drop it would be due to the latter. And I own zero Trout, so this isn't a pump. And I also think the Angels squeeze in to the post season.

So are people just thinking Trout is done playing baseball? Because that's the only way prices go down. He was still the best player in baseball before getting injured last season.

Someone make a thread with a poll asking how many Trout threads we can get on the first page of the baseball forum.

A good number of votes in, let's get more!

MOONBASE1 04-07-2022 04:13 PM

If I spend $150 to grade my 11 Update RC, probably 10-20%.

Stifle 04-07-2022 10:31 PM

They might rise even more if he can stay healthy and lead the team to a World Series while performing great. I don’t believe the value of his cards will drop due to performance. If any reason is because his cards are so expensive the odds would be to drop.

MoreToppsPlease 04-07-2022 10:55 PM

A lot depends on whether he’s even the best player on his team.

Considering he plays with Babe Ruth I’m guessing his cards will never recover.

BTW Ruth is batting .172

I actually thought he looked pretty good in the highlight of him hitting his nearly 500 ft. HR last night. He might get there.

How can anyone not like Trout? You either didn’t get in early enough or don’t have enough money to buy his cards stop hating on a class act.

imbluestreak23 04-15-2022 06:42 PM

Hopefully not much. I have a BC #175 Pristine up with Ricky.

I'll take a few dingers this week please.

Because he’s not flashy like most travel kids have been taught how to play the game the past 20 years. He’s not cocky and brash, he’s not a bat flipper hitting a big homer in an unimportant inning. He’s not a spokesman for national commercial brands or video games. He’s just the best player by a mile the game has had in 10 years. Lots to hate.

Agreed he’s a special player and person. It’s refreshing to see him back I hope he can stay healthy all year.
