Why are Exquisite Prices Increasing So Much

I've noticed that Exquisite base and autos for GOATS have just exploded recently. Any reason why this is happening? Is Exquisite clear #1 in terms of premium brands?

montej1695 04-06-2022 01:20 PM

Supply & demand.

Just means we’re a couple weeks / months from a deep-pocketed influencer talking about how nice they are and why they are a better investment than Panini products, etc

jbball50 04-06-2022 01:44 PM

Probably because they didn’t explode as much as everything else during the rise. It’s funny that none of those influencers ever mentioned exquisite during the past two years from what I’ve seen.

imbluestreak23 04-06-2022 01:51 PM

Because Poopini sucks

Guess people are sick of all white cards whose designs haven’t changed in 10 years

hermanotarjeta 04-06-2022 01:56 PM

Where are they at now?

I remember selling base commons for $3 apiece and stars for $5-$10.

I think I got $60 for MJ.

So predictable. So true.

Interesting hype job.

I check Exquisite every day.

I'm not noticing any explosion. They've been trending upwards slowly and consistently and so they should.

You got any examples?

If you don't know why Exquisite goes up then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe stick to the Prizm Prizms.

Yes, Exquisite is clearly the premium brand.

Kobe, LeBron and MJ Autos is a pretty great start to a premium brand. Add in some of the designs haven't been topped in the last, almost 20 years.

Simples

I think OP is finally noticing prices today are higher than they were for the same card in 2003.

Let's hope Fanatics somehow gets a hold of Bron and MJ Autos again.

Game on

Only way is if:

a. Upper Deck goes belly up.
b. Upper Deck gets purchased by Fanatics

I'm not sure about Lebron, but I'm pretty sure Jordan has an ownership stake in UD. They're not going anywhere until UD does.

exospheer 04-06-2022 02:52 PM

Money have switch from mid to low end things to high end. High end game is strong.

All of the autos just seemed to have been really really strong the last 6 months.

Corrected.

Promethius88 04-06-2022 03:36 PM

Does this mean my 2011 Exquisite LeBron Dimensions auto is going to skyrocket in the next 6 months to a year and I can retire.... or should I maybe hold off putting in my resignation?

This. I follow these pretty closely. The high-end stuff has exploded. Base has been pretty stable I'd say.

LOL

Unless you've been living under a rock and just started out in the hobby, you will have known that Exquisites are the first ever ultra high end premium brand that started in 2003. It literally changed the hobby and the way ultra premium cards are produced. Exquisite Basketball between 2003 to 2009 is universally known to be the greatest product ever made. MJ, Lebron, Kobe and a slew of Hall of Famers like Magic, Bird, Kareem, Bill Russell, etc. including RPA's of that era like Lebron, Wade, KD, Paul, etc. On top of all that, they are absolutely jaw dropping and gorgeous looking cards with mainly Game Used Patches/Jerseys and On-Card autographs. All extremely low printed cards across the board.

Even before the Covid boom where just a handful of cards were selling for 6 figures and higher, there were Exquisite cards in that realm already.

If ANY type of cards should continue to soar, it is Exquisite. Long term holds without a question.

From that period what would be 2nd behind Exquisite?
