This is through HGA's PC slabs with no authentication and no grading. For $15 you can also have fake cards graded and put into an official HGA slab.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m obviously not as familiar with them. This just looked obviously fake and based on the BIN, they are trying to pull a fast one.

It is in a real HGA slab, but the person says "unauthenticated" in the description. If you are a grading company and put fake cards in your slab, this is going to lead to big issues! My advice to anyone is if you see a card over $500 in a HGA slab, just stay away.

Can't even bother to include a picture of the back.

sportsfanatic 12-08-2021 08:27 PM

Why anyone would even bother to buy a HGA slab let alone grade their cards with HGA, is beyond me

Fresh out of some imbecile's printer.

I was the biggest HGA hater at first but I have joined in. Best in hand slab I have ever had. Nothng going to PSA anymore unless $500 plus now.

They will put anything in a slab but clearly they didn’t grease this one.

CSG is a much better slab imo. HGA felt like a knock off BGS to me

Personal preference thing. I saw HGA slabs in person for the first time this weekend at a show and wanted to vomit.

There are suddenly a lot of companies in Philippines putting cards in home grown slabs, without grades. So a slab factory has clearly been built. Get ready for the slab onslaught. Hope CSG has currency-level safeguards embedded in their new design.

I am saying a month after ungraded cards in slabs started really hitting my radar, an ungraded card in a slab hits the blowout radar. It might not be just the Philippines, could be worldwide. A lot of Facebook ad skins are. But some collectors in the Philippines I know did avail the service.

Anyway the Facebook feed ads for the company (I kid you not) featured a pair of '86 Fleer Jordans. They assured me when I commented that ALL their slabbed cards were genuine. To which I replied that someone had a lot of faith to entrust two minty grails to a brand new slabbing company that doesn't grade.

ninjacookies 12-09-2021 02:36 AM

Maybe Brian Ang opened his own PSA with proceeds from the pactory presh Exquisite cases.

They shouldn’t have that option if they want to be respected in my opinion.

Maybe some people will use it for their PC. More will try to use it to pass fake cards as authentic on people who don’t realize it’s not authentic.
HGA is the new GMA
GMA was recently added to an ongoing lawsuit, regarding counterfeit Upper Deck cards. Although not graded or authenticated, this counterfeit Jordan might catch the attention of Upper Deck and we could see HGA joining GMA.

I read this as "Josh Green PMG" multiple times

Brobocop 12-09-2021 02:07 PM

Junk slab era. Literally slabbing fake cards now.

Agree. I think selling their slabs as a standalone product is a bad idea, with stuff like this being the obvious outcome. Not good for their reputation.

I like how you can still clearly tell the texture is off through the thick haze of that steam room photo.
