Beware of Ebayer Celatim_8! Scam
Guy bought a card from be on best offer (93 Jordan Beam Team PSA 9). Then sends me a message with his phone # saying he has an inquiry about the card. I respond on Ebay asking what questions he has and nothing. So out of cursioty I txt the # asking what questions he has. He responds instantly saying he would like to know the condition of the card. I respond its graded PSA 9 Mint just like the picture.
Now the real story comes into play. I get a following message saying "Awesome, I want the card shipped to my cousin in Nevada as a Birthday surprise. I would like you to also get an Ebay gift card of $400 and include it in the package before shipment. I am a Navy officer so I won't be able to do that. I will add $500 tot he payment, $400 for the gift card, $50 for shipping and $50 for your gas and stress. Are you cool with that?" LOL no I am not cool with that!!! Needless to say I cancelled the order and reported it to Ebay. |

for future reference, always put a link to the member. that way if the id changes, the posted link will still take you to the person and you can see the new name. https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile?username=Collelatim Celatim_8 Collelatim |

Also, it's true..the UCMJ prohibits Naval Officer's from buying eBay gift cards. They also cannot buy NBA2K virtual currency or Victoria's Secret gift cards. Good order and discipline and all....

So I'm nosey and Googled why can't navy members buy eBay gift cards, and like the first link was this...wonder if it's the same person. This was like a year ago though https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling-Q-A/Possible-Scammer-Help/qaq-p/30962257
Apparently my link doesn't work from when I copy/pasted...but eerily similar on#@05-23-2020#@07:30 AM Hey everyone,#@ So im new to selling on here and I posted on of my paintings to see what would happen, not really expecting much. Anyways, I got an offer from someone and I accepted it, then they proceeded to message me via text. They said that they want me to mail it to their nephew and want me to go get a $300 ebay gift card on top of it. I myself wasn't thinking much of it. I said i would but haven't received a payment yet and said i wouldn't get it without payment first. They asked for my paypal email and they're wanting me to get the card and painting sent out asap...#@ They said that they sent payment but I don't see it in my paypal and they specifically told me to check my spam folder in my email which I thought was very strange. I don't know if I feel comfortable with this. Please help!! Thank you! Then someone else posted this 05-24-2020#@02:40 PM eBay must screen these kind of people, who scam on their website. She said she will be paying on eBay through Paypal.#@ I wonder if eBay makes a part of the $300 gift card sale, hence they don't care. I sent an email to eBay, if they don't show any concern or make any changes, perhaps it's time to hold them responsible for damages. That's the cost of doing business.#@ #@ This the message I received from the eBay member posing as a Navy Officer. Thought the cousin lived in Nevada? Not Texas:D:

Not related, but thought it fits in the thread. I had a person message me yesterday asking me if one of my cards was real. I just responded "yes". Lots of odd stuff on eBay.

What kind of honorable, volunteer Naval officer/animal rescuer forgets the God Bless?

Funny how their feedback just went private as well. |
