Cards in for grading owners wish they could take back
My buddy sent me a text that he unfortunately has 20 Kyle Lewis base rookies in at PSA among other cards he wishes he could get back and not grade. It got me thinking as to how many millions of cards that are at psa and bgs that people wish they’d never sent in. The impact of the 2020 price spikes will linger for years.

Haha anything Adell I sent in...

Anyone grading anything is taking a gamble/risk that someone else will have more interest/value in a 3rd party’s grade. There are no guarantees besides death and taxes. I would buy PSA 10 of K Lewis for $10-15 probably all day. All I need is a solid month of production or enough trending data to make a small increase if that was my goal. In 10 years it might seem a steal at the prices they were graded for or sold for in the current market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
They should let people cancel orders that have been in grading purgatory like that. But probably not as it would open up a huge can of worms.

That’s why you do not grade 25 year old rookies

I got an order back earlier in the year once I saw how the wait times were ballooning, just had to pay return shipping. They're not gonna let anyone cherry-pick which cards they want back but I do imagine you can still cancel an order before it get's to 'grading' status. |

But they do allow you to recall your cards. Just contact PSA and pay for return shipping if the order hasn’t made it to grading. |
I have a 30 card order at PSA which was put together in mid March( missed the deadline for the lower price but had a feeling that prices would continue to rise)
Thankfully I sent in mostly Soto and a bunch of soccer - which looks ok at this point. I might just have one or two regrettable cards - a 2020 Bowman Erik Rivera atomic auto being one of them. Supposedly a two-way player he pitched 3 innings in a game for Inland Empire in Low A early in the season and I haven't heard of him since. Mine are still at the research/id stage. I'm guessing it will still be 6 months away from being completed. |

He will be the oldest person to debut since 1960 and make it to the HoF. Something like 9 players in that time frame have debuted at age 24 and made it. If you were grading anything Kyle Lewis, you are insane Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not exactly apples for apples. |

I have a stack of Brien Taylor cards I sent in 1992. Says they should be graded by November.
|
I have plenty, but also in the mean time, other players have come around even more, like Walker Buehler. When I sent him in last November, he was still just potential. He is now having a Cy Young year, so they will be nice to have back. Last years football rookies, all will be back in time. Luis Robert peaked and dipped and now slowly gaining more attention. Gavin Lux, Lewis Robert, Willi Castro, Randy Arozarena, and the Solek and Hoerner twins, are all DOA.

I have some Zac Gallen in one of my orders. Like 25 flagship RCs.

Hoyt Wilhelm was a 29 year old rookie. |

Trying to grasp exactly what you were trying to get across here. So: Luis Robert = Good Lewis Robert = Not Good |

Yeah, I won a PWCC auction recently for a Lewis chrome variation card that was selling for $120 when your friend sent in his stuff. PSA 9, won it for $17.50. |

Did you just compare Kyle Lewis to Ichiro? |

I sent in some nice Nomar Mazara cards last year I just got back. He went from hopeful bounce back candidate to unemployed. Thankfully that was at $9 a card and 7 cards. I thought I would have them before spring training for sure when I sent them in. Whoops!
I actually hope they bring back a bulk pricing structure in the 9-12 dollar range, even if we have to wait a year I'd still take those types of gambles for short money. For every Mazara there's a Ke'Bryan Hayes or Xander Bogaerts that balances them out or more (guys I had in the same sub and would have sold short had it came back when I thought it would.) I imagine the Kyle Lewis and Gavin Lux Bulk submission people are really feeling the pain right now amongst others. |

Herro[/QUOTE] Prizm psa 10 still $50. So still good profit for $10 grading. |
