eBay Is Introducing Collection and Price Guide (beta) for Trading Cards
 

Has anyone had any luck with it beyond the email announcement? I've started this thread for successes, hints, tricks, and discussion.

I'm interested to see how the price guide works and how accurate it is.

Here's my guess:

2011 Topps Update Mike Trout average price is $20 (thanks to all the reprints that they probably won't remove from the calculation).

Ebay now has a “Shoot Yourself in the Foot” Department.

They already suggest a BIN price when you list something and it's almost always comically low.

Agreed, they are idiots.

Really feel like there's other areas of the site that could use the work / innovation / time they are putting into this

They gotta keep all the flippers happy that bring them loads of revenue.

Only a company with [URL="https://www.boston.com/news/crime/2021/07/27/philip-cooke-ebay-sentenced-cyberstalking-natick-couple/"]ebay's sterling reputation[/URL] could successfully pull something like this off.

I hear they are releasing a stock market price guide as well that will also not be completely outdated within 2 days after an update.

I have it on the app, the numbers are pretty off. From what I have see so far its not worth using.

It's because people choose the wrong options on their listings all the time. I can't tell you how many times I'll search for a "2020" card and it pulls up other years for the same player because the seller listed the wrong year in the listing details.

Could you imagine if eBay's algorithm used the title instead? LOL

If Bezos would concentrate on creating a better auction site and less on riding a peen into space, we can all walk away from eBay and send them back to the Pangea days selling Beanie Babies.
