What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleeping?

Just finished a 43 hour stretch. What’s the longest you’ve gone without any sleep at all?

corndog 05-13-2021 11:10 AM

Right at 54 hours.

I was 24 and worked 3rd shift.

Boo 05-13-2021 11:14 AM

Saraste made it 5 hours one time. Glen has been trying to beat that for years but hasn't been able to yet.

BostonNut 05-13-2021 11:16 AM

23 hour jaunt to Tampa.

Four years ago clowns...before Brady got there.

asujbl 05-13-2021 11:17 AM

Never over 24. Never even thought about it.

No one at ASU has ever stayed awake for 24 because they passed out drunk first

Unless that doesn’t count

fulltritty 05-13-2021 11:23 AM

Did over 24 hours when I was in the Navy stationed in Spain.

1 hour eating dinner, getting ready, and walking to work

12 hour overnight shift

11 hours traveling and running with the bulls in Arcos de la Frontera

1 hour eating dinner, getting ready, and walking to work

12 hour overnight shift

Of course I was 20 at the time. :)!

That was the trifecta

I can’t even argue

I’m going to make a fortune this year (already got offered $2,000 for my Texans tickets)

But I’ll need 6 figures to offset the 00’s and 01’s

GeechQuest 05-13-2021 11:40 AM

Took an extended release Adderall one time. Hit ~60 hours.

Would not do that again.

Who issues the 1099 for those gainz?

JeremyNick 05-13-2021 11:48 AM

~40 hours.

2009 when I was 25. Had to do 3 separate organ/tissue donations in 3 separate hospitals about 5 hours apart.

Left Monday morning around 2am, got home Tuesday around dinner time. Took myself off the schedule for the next 2 days and hibernated.

JeffG1954 05-13-2021 11:48 AM

After enlisting in the Air Force in 1973 I was stationed in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Got leave and drove home to the west coast in 51 hours.

pac213up 05-13-2021 11:52 AM

37 hours on a trip to Thailand. I do not sleep on planes.

Don’t need one. I self report (seriously)

As I can lose my license if I get audited... forget just owing some money

Damn 3 hours of ethics I am required to do

Ticketmaster might actually have thresholds. I never even thought about that honestly.

Pretty sure BOCPA said that reporting is voluntary.

In spite of popular belief I've gone over 24 hours without sleep many times. It happened quite a few times last year when my sleep schedule went wonky. The longest I ever went was about 44 hours (in my early 20's). Fortunately the drive home at the end of that was short as I should not have been driving. When Hurricane Charlie hit the Florida west coast back in 2004 I was working overnights. I had come off of a 10 hours shift when management asked me if I would stay in the building keeping an eye on things while the storm went on outside. I went home for a couple of hours and went back to ride the storm out. They told me to sleep if I could. Well, the building was making all sorts of weird noises because of the wind. There was no other noise so I could hear everything. No way I was sleeping with that happening.

LCM1223 05-13-2021 12:54 PM

Day and a half, so 36-40h somewhere in that range

spuds1961 05-13-2021 01:22 PM

During hurricane Katrina I worked 3 12 hour shifts in a row for the ambulance company starting with a 6 am to 6 pm and working straight through as the people that were supposed to relieve me couldn’t make it to work. It wasn’t horrible but I would never do it again.
