ebay Filtering by sport
Did ebay change the way they filter? I used to be able to browse by sport, but now it seems sport is a filter, not a category.
Will need to update a lot of saved searches if this has changed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
It's a big mess on the UK site. Previously the US Football section was the same as the UK American Football section, the US Soccer section to the UK Football section. After this change the Football section includes both American Football and Soccer on both sites. In addition there are a few extra listings under Soccer on ebay US (soccer cards listed through ebay US) and American football on ebay UK (American football cards listed through other countries). I also suspect there are a lot listed under "not specified" too.
Destroys the ability to browse and renders a lot of searches useless for me, I now have to be super specific about what I search for. |
Has to be a mistake. My saved searches still look like they are filtered by sport, but obviously aren't.
|
Yep they definitely changed something either yesterday or this morning. I'm unable to filter by sport as well...they seem have moved/changed the categories for all sports/trading cards.
|
Don't y'all know? Ebay doesn't test changes they make. Buyers and sellers do.
|
Yeah, it appears as if you are no longer able to easily add item information, either (e.g., player, team, year, product, manufacturer). Not sure if those ever helped in searches at all, but I know I used to list the player's current team in the title and the team on the card to broaden the audience. Classic eBay.

Looks like almost 3000 listings I have are affected , WTF EBAY
|
I had saved searches filtered with a "Serial-Numbered" checkbox that was helpful if the seller took initiative to list it as such. That seems gone, and I have no idea what the benefit would be.
It's hard enough to weed through the trash listings of click-bait titles, bogus reprints, and maybe-a-sucker-will-bite asking prices and minimum bids. |
Trying to revise my item and Item specifics are all gone as well
|
I saw an email just dropped from ebay, should be fun to work through thousands of listings...

Now you can list sports cards by product type
• Sports cards will be changing from sports categories into product type categories. Select from singles, packs, boxes, and more. • You’ll be required to choose a Sport under item specifics when listing. • If you don’t update your listings to the appropriate category, they will automatically be categorized as Sports Trading Card Singles. Item specifics are required for all trading cards After July, you’ll be required to fill out these item specifics to keep your listing live: • “Sports” under Sports Trading Cards. • “Game” under Collectible Card Games. • “Franchise” under Non-Sports Trading Cards. New options for graded and ungraded cards • You’ll also be required to select if your card is graded or not in item specifics for single card categories. • Graded cards have additional item specifics, like Grade, Professional Grader, and Certification Number. |
just spoke to someone from ebay who says they did not make any changes and this is some sort of a glitch

And you believe that. You can ask 3 Ebay reps the same question and get 3 different answers. They announced a few months ago that they were going to be making lots of category changes including the trading card categories. Also Ebay has officially announced there were changes to the card categories. |
THe changes they have made are screwing us all and whatever moron implemented this change needs to walk the plank !

Gross
Thought my listings were just glitching They just put out an article on it Fixing something that ain’t broken, gotta love it |

What idiots decided that this was a good idea?
I'd rather not have rugby cards show up in my basketball specific lot searches that were previously filtered. |

No wonder all my listings show up as "add recommended item specifics" now. And when I go to do it in the app, it throws an error. Typical shoot-first, ask questions later crap. |

Mine just changed about 2-3 weeks ago on both of my accounts. All my saved Feedback templates gone, instead of one long list of listings/solds it's all broken up into different categories |
There are gonna be a lot of steals on items ending today, because nothing that ends today is showing up in searches.

Was the press release a glitch too? |
