Target removes sportscards.from site

I've noticed that Target has completely removed Sports cards sold from them on their website, so now is it just bot or bust on Walmart for buying wax online?

mnvikingstwins 04-18-2021 11:55 AM

Good, cards aren't worth nearly the effort that they need to put into it. Should take them out of stores next

Guess I can cancel my Red Card.

My app still shows all the usual suspects...even shows they have Rookies & Stars available at my local (but I know thats not true)
All 3rd party sellers still ripping people off online...

ThoseBackPages 04-18-2021 12:25 PM

its about time

Giantrobot 04-18-2021 12:26 PM

I hope they pull them from stores, too.

J1L 04-18-2021 12:26 PM

My app still shows Topps S1 available at my local store but its not. App is broken when it comes to cards.

I was on Facebook yesterday and some guy was selling live rips of retail. Donruss blaster for about $40 and he was making a big deal out of cards that were commons or numbered out of 999 trying to hype them up, and guess what, he sold a few more after. He was saying some cards are going to sell for $15-$20 but they were worth a fraction of that. But fact is, people will buy from these clowns so the 3rd party sellers will continue to camp out. I wonder if in the long run this will turn people off to the hobby knowing they just paid $40 for a retail version of Donruss, etc.

When I noticed this I had hoped maybe they just removed pages to throw off bots.

But a queue system...dang, it makes sense and is both okay with me and kinda sucks.

We just can't have nice things.

Our local Target is reconfiguring the store, and completely removed the sports card aisle.

Hopefully this is one more nail in the flippers' coffins.

They just evolve. I'm not sure they can be thwarted by mortal means.

my target the manager watches the line grow outside in the morning and purposely doesn't put cards out and waits till a random day and time when no one is there

WaxPax 04-18-2021 04:47 PM

Bots didn’t score last reload, lots of bans and sweet tears. What ever they did work, only us the west coast missed out. Hope they keep it up

They canceled quite a few orders but some bots destroyed initial. I’m currently looking at a screenshot of someone who hit 116 orders of 3 quantity on initial from target. Tough situation for target (and others), just no way to prevent that on any online release, and if you move to Instore only it’s a madhouse and not safe. If you don’t run bots, find some friends who do.

Everyone's gotta get their jollies somewhere. While I sympathize, this seems like it might cause more problems than it is worth. They are just going to get crowds on multiple days instead of neatly dealing with it on one day at store open when it isn't crowded.

actionbryan 04-18-2021 09:52 PM

Op what are you taking about ? There is some non sport you can buy right now on the target ap .

refuse24 04-18-2021 10:55 PM

It’s getting way out of hand with retail sports cards and I hope they totally remove them. After I witness a fight and cops called a few weeks ago.Takes a lot of guts to remove something from someone’s hands over profit.I personally wish they would stop putting product out on Fridays lol.

We need a Redbox version of retail cards. 1 box per CC/debit/account per day.

Make it happen-

vinnieb 04-21-2021 09:16 AM

2021 Heritage is available on target.com right now, so maybe this was just temporary.

Megas. Now maybe people can stock up and stop bitching about not being able to find retail.

Bowman1951 04-21-2021 09:23 AM

There were plenty available this morning in a drop and I have friends who got them.

People would use multiple cards. Great idea. I’m imagining it in my head. A line outside Ralphs at the sportscard Redbox.
