McDavid 2015 the cup honorable numbers question
Been a collector for several years but just starting to get into hockey and looking to pick up a nicer insert McDavid RPA. Like the numbers one but noticed some he hand wrote a a serial number and some he did not. Does anyone here know the story with this? Is there indeed only 97 of them total or are there 97 with serial number and more without. Have noticed the numbered ones sell better. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah that’s the way it is, here’s the official explanation: https://www.upperdeckblog.com/2017/01/upper-deck-announces-numbering-omission-with-2015-16-nhl-the-cup-honorable-numbers-connor-mcdavid-cards/ |

Did they number them the same way? I’m assuming people would rather the first 35 hand numbered by him. Funny the article says 1-35 and 97 but yet then says the 50 total that were hand numbered |

According to their own logic this one would be renumbered with 49/97, so looks the same IMO: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-THE-CUP-HONORABLE-NUMBERS-AUTO-97-CONNOR-MCDAVID-RC-BGS-9-5/393238665070?hash=item5b8ed9d76e:g:6pcAAOSwI7Zgb4q5 |

Should be a renumbered one but looks like the exact same as the original numbered ones. Makes no sense. Like did he renumber it for them? Or was it some employee numbering them the whole time anyway? It’s weird |
I believe upper deck does all the hand numbering. The players only sign their auto.

All they're saying is the cards were received back in two waves. The first came in time to be numbered, the second wave was last-minute and just had to be put in the product as-is. For those complaining "why couldn't someone just take 5 minutes to do it?", that isn't how it works. LOL |
