Opinions on prospects to invest in?
I'm starting to look into buying some UFC cards. I used to watch a lot of UFC but haven't been following as much the last couple of years. I'm looking for opinions on fighters who's cards are still cheap that have potential to rise to the top of the sport in the next couple of years.

Islam Machochev (spelling) Petr Yan Chase Hooper (I think he'll be good, still really young) Zabit Darren Till (well known but still young and coming up) There's others that I just can't remember, I recognize when I see them fight... If I think of others I'll post them here. |

I really like Marvin Vettori but as far as i know he doesn't have cards yet. Hoping his RC will be in Prizm.

As for mine I’ll go with: -Sean Brady -Kyler Phillips -Bryce Mitchell -Grant Dawson -Islam Makhachev -Joe Solecki -Khamzat Chimaev -Ciryl Gane |

He's a submission specialist so his standup isn't great right now, but he's VERY young. Compare Khabib's striking now to when he first entered. Remember how long its taken Uriah Hall to crack the top 10. It's an opinion mate, just because you disagree with it, your way of addressing it is childish and arrogant and frankly bizarre. And with Petr Yan, you're astute in your findings... he in fact has won the 135 belt. Reason I mention him is that usually 125 and 135 doesn't get a lot of attention from the fight world in the US, usually overseas it does well... but him being Russian, and not from a division that really does well in the US, if you can find some decently priced cards on Ebay, you can probably flip them if you sell internationally for a higher price. Next time mate, just ask. |
Darren Till (well known but still young and coming up)
Hmmm...I was high on Till a few years ago, but I think his moment has passed. Lost 3 of his last 4 fights, and his middleweight split decision against Gastelum wasn't all that impressive. I think he just had to pull out of his next fight due to a broken collarbone, as well. Just my opinion. Seems like a good kid though - I don't think he was ever the same after being knocked out by Masvidal. |

I don't really put a lot in to loss total, I look at the competition he's lost to. It might just mean that especially for Till, the UFC totally screwed him by rushing him WAY too fast... kinda like what Dana is doing to Kazmat right now, I think Dana would throw him in a main event, after what? like 3 or 4 fights in the UFC... I know he's a beast, but not everyone is a Conor (I don't like Conor BTW, but his rise was insane). Your opinion is definitely not one that lacks evidence... I mean it's hard to argue against it, but that's my response is all. |
Clay Guida....like getting a Cousin It RC

* Chase Hooper (Will be a top 10 fighter if Sean Shelby does matchmaking properly)
* Darren Till (Not going to be an all-time great, but has an electric personality, and will continue to get big fights) * Calvin Kattar (Is he still a prospect? Debatable. I've trained with the man and he's an incredible fighter with a great work ethic. Slickest hands at 145 besides Holloway) * Cyril Gane (Heavyweight is going to be ripe for a new order in the coming year. Cyril has amazing striking and great gameplanning) * Bryce Mitchell (Very fun style, media love him) * Zabit (Dagestani Lincoln fights like a wounded tiger. Exciting every single time. Ties to Khabib bump popularity) * Merab Dvalishvili (Biased – former training partner. The man is a fantastic fighter with a great work ethic. Fun, aggressive, always looking for opportunities to pounce) |

But he'll come back better. You know who I was hoping would pan out was that Kyle kid that fought Zabit when Khabib had his Al fight in NY. That fight was awesome and I was hoping for good things. I don't know if he's even still signed with the UFC. See I agree with the Chase Hooper and the Till thing, for whatever reason the other guy thought I was mental for mentioning Chase. He's a beast on the ground... I could see him coming along like Charles Oliveira... just gradual improvements until one day you notice he's on a 5 or 6 fight win streak and he's up next for the shot. |
i've been collecting aaron pico. he always has some exciting fights.

I simply shared my opinion that Hooper is one of the worst fighters currently in the UFC. Nothing about it is bizarre, mental, arrogant, or childish. |

Is there a limit to me mentioning you in the same thread you posted in? You just don't want me to mention you because you feel dumb for what you posted, you outed yourself for not really knowing what you were talking about, and instead of asking someone, you did what you did. You're free to delete your comment, but I'll keep mentioning you now that I know it bothers you so much. Good job! |

I don’t feel dumb at all and I can assure you I know what I’m talking about as all the guys I mentioned are already much better than Hooper and have much higher ceilings than Hooper as well. Chase Hooper isn’t that good. He was getting utterly owned by a scrub like Peter Barrett until he pulled that leglock out of nowhere in the last round in his last fight. Before that he was beaten from pillar to post by a journeyman in Alex Caceres. I offered my opinion and notice how I didn’t have to stoop to the level of throwing out insults in order to do so. Chase Hooper’s absolute ceiling is a guy like Cole Miller; a decent fighter but go check his card prices if you think Hooper is a “good investment”. |

"all the guys I mentioned are already much better than Hooper"..... do you not see the conundrum? I mentioned Chase Hooper for his POTENTIAL, not who he is right now, for someone that thinks they're so intelligent, I would've figured you'd realize that without having me explain this? As if talent is stagnate and can't improve... again, your arguments are strange. It's like you're trying to argue for arguments sake. I mean I'm off for Spring Break, well I'm writing a 15 page paper, but I'm taking breaks... so I got time to entertain this for a few more days! Keep on a postin' if you want. Or you could move on? |

I said it’s odd you brought him up as a prospect when he’s the former and very likely future Bantamweight champion which you responded to and clarified your position. And yes I think I all the guys I mentioned are way better prospects and are/will be much better than Hooper. Again I’m just offering my opinion. I obviously don’t see the potential in Hooper like you do; I see him as a poor man’s Cole Miller which is likely what his ceiling is. |

No, because I'm not writing an essay for college here. I'm writing on some forum. If you can't decipher words that aren't spelled correctly, who's the more illiterate person at that point? |
