GOLDIN vs EBAY for PSA cards
 

Why would someone buy on GOLDIN auctions if you can find the same PSA cards on EBAY ? Unless Goldin has some unique high end cards only available via Goldin seems crazy to pay 25% on top of the actual price ?

Yeah this is what I thought last night too after I signed up on Goldin and saw the fees. I understand for the top items a buyer that is a millionaire doesn't care. But for cards where you can find the card on ebay for under $100k, certainly under $10k, there is no way as a seller you're better off using Goldin. A buyer that can buy a card for $10k on ebay isn't going to pay an extra $2000+ to buy the card through Goldin.

People bid with that in mind. If you are willing to pay 12k for a card on eBay, you only bid 10k on Goldin so when you add the 20% buyers premium, you are still paying 12k.

If you want to snipe cards, eBay is where you want to buy, but you may get sniped. If Goldin has something you really want, you will always have a fair chance to buy the item. You won't get sniped, you will always have a chance to place a higher bid.

High-end cards, I don't trust eBay. The heavy favoritism to buyers is too much for me to think about selling pricey stuff on eBay. They can return for any reasons even though if you put no returns on your auction. And non-paying buyers.

I've never sold anything through Goldin but these are my thoughts as well. I would feel more comfortable using them because they weed out most of the scammers. They don't accept paypal only cashiers check, bank check, money order, wire transfer, or credit card. How many scammers have a $100k credit card limit? The first time you don't pay on Goldin you're banned from ever bidding again.

Do we know for sure how far or hard they press for non paying bidders? FYI - vetting requires a bank statement and let's just say it's a joke lol

Auctions very rarely doesn't get paid for via Goldin.

For one, you can tell because you rarely see the high end items every being re-listed again.

Auction Houses require references to even be allowed to bid. They also go after non paying bidders for the amount they lose by non paying bidders breaking their purchase agreement.

I have no idea i've never used them before but they seem to have more protection for the seller than eBay imo. I would feel more comfortable selling a high end item with them than i would on eBay but to each their own.

Pretty much this is the answer. I am always bidding on goldin with the juice in mind. I have a few items I'm live on tonight which I could also get on ebay (different grades and such, but similar values in general) and I'm basically comparing them at my out the door price. No one serious would be bidding on goldin (or others that don't list the BP) while not factoring the juice.

Lol. You obviously don't bid with all the Auction Houses.

Selling on Goldin or other auction houses is generally safer than Ebay. Also, Goldin has a partnership with PSA so if your card is high end and they submit it, you're almost guaranteed to get a better grade if Goldin submits it for you. But! Then you have to list it on Goldin.

I've never heard of Goldin ever going after a non-paying bidder. You sure about that?

Heritage does not take PayPal. None of the bigger auctions houses take PayPal.
