eBay Fee Increase
Given that eBay is increasing it's final value fees 24% for selling sports cards, are most sellers sticking with it or moving to a different platform?
If so, which one? |

23.5% actually... Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop > Sports Trading Cards Collectibles > Non-Sport Trading Cards Toys & Hobbies > Collectible Card Games 12.35% on total amount of the sale up to $7,500 calculated per item 2.35% on the portion of the sale over $7,500 |

They are raising current fees 23.5%, not raising to 23.5%. |
I see it as 12.5% final value fee
|
How are you getting to 23.5% based on that information?
|
still annoying. 10% to 12.5% is not good for my sales.
|
Cashing in on the craze I see.
|
The fees have already been that if you use managed payments. It's not changing at all for sports cards this time.

I'm currently paying 10% final value fee, and a change to 12.35% would be a 23.5% increase. |

Yes, but you won't be paying that 2.9% + 0.30 to PayPal once you switch to managed payments... AKA: You were already paying more than the 12.35% and you didn't know it. |
this thread is fake news

Absolutely. It's also important to note that the final value fees are less than 12.35% if you have a store subscription (basic or higher). These come in at 11.5%. Then, if you're a "Top Rated" seller, you get the 1 PPT (10%) reduction. |
Math and a basic understanding of what they are doing is a struggle for some.

So, overall, we’re actually paying slightly less than were when PayPal was managing payments. Instead of 13%, we’re down to 12.35%. My understanding is that this is why ebay discontinued its relationship with PayPal, so that it could collect this portion of the fees rather than farm out the payment management to PayPal. |
What are Managed Payments?
|
This thread should be "is anyone going to THANK ebay for reducing our overall payments and increasing our take-home by 5%?"
Then we all get excited about 5%... and then we realize it's just a 5% increase because fees are going from 13% to 12.35%. |

eBay handles the payments for you instead of PayPal, which is completely cut out now. Most people were switched over during 2020. |

Hate ebay. Cant wait for other platforms to gain steam. They could get by just fine with 5% fees.
