Can someone help? Are these just aged reprints?
 

Hi. I recently purchased a lot of cards. Not for much $. But I am trying to find out if they are just aged reprints? The corners are all pretty rounded but I was hoping some of you could help me out. I would appreciate any insights. Thanks!

It looks like someone cut rounded corners and tried to age. Fake cards. I don't call them reprints. Reprints are licensed products.

Thanks for the reply. To me it has the signs of a real card. It’s just these rounded corners that are really getting to me

Questions for your consideration:
1) Have you ever seen cards from these sets in person?
2) Was the seller only selling ungraded star cards?
3) Why were they so cheap?

Each of those cards, if real, are probably $1000 each.

Can't really tell from the small size of the images, but are the corners also layered so you can see where the different composite layers are also coming apart? That is, if your rounded corners are still pretty flat like the rest of the card's edges, that's another good sign of fakery.

The other obvious tell is that the colors are oversaturated / way too bright. Sometimes you hear of fakes giving players "suntans."

They all look extremely fake. The colors are too vivid as previous poster noted. Not even good fakes. Good on you to ask around and hope you didn’t buy any of these.

There will be somewhat of a sheen even on older cards just from the inks being applied during the printing process, but if the cardboard itself looks glossy at all, esp. on the back, that's definitely no good.

Better card images would help, but with what we are working with, those already look very fake. Were the cards represented as being authentic by the seller? I would work on getting your money back. You mentioned you got these for not much money. I know we hear about these amazing finds that are out there. But honestly, in most cases if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If they ever say something like “not sure, so I’m selling as a reprint” stay FAR away.

Way too saturated and the corners are all evenly rounded. Definitely going fake.

I would avoid those – and frankly, cards of that high a value should only be purchased slabbed, unless from a very respected party. Just pay for an A or 1 if price is a concern, and treat the delta as an insurance fee against fakes.

Trust me, those are fake.
