Jordan on fire - any good value picks

Everywhere I look, jordan stuff has exploded over the last couple weeks. What cards is everyone shooting for, and do we see any value out there in an already hot jordan market.

I have found myself picking up some of the psa 10 team sheets cards and panini stickers. What about you?

maconithappen 04-10-2020 07:16 AM

I picked up the 1996-97 golden touch last week but I wasn’t even thinking of the documentary that is coming out. That seems to be steaming everything up, told at least what I’m hearing.

KhalDrogo 04-10-2020 07:18 AM

If you love how the card looks, it's probably a good buy.

oldschooldude 04-10-2020 07:32 AM

I'd recommend getting as many of his 90's refractors as you can before they get to a place where you can't afford them. I've been stashing up on them for a while now!

bmf 04-10-2020 09:08 AM

i follow the MJ exquisite market. things have gotten to the point where i can't afford most of the cards though. should be interesting to see what happens over the next 4-5 weeks with the last dance starting soon.

My recommendation is to scoop up ungraded high end base cards (Finest, Chrome, Bowman’s Best, SPx, Flair, EX-2000/1 featuring him in a Bulls uni and any parallel or low to mid end insert from 95-99. I see that market exploding, since the price points are appealing to collectors on a budget and casual fans alike.

mjcollector 04-10-2020 09:12 AM

You mentioned "good value". Not sure that exists at the moment :D

Actually the one card that still hasn't exploded, not because I have it and it's my avatar, but is his xrc. I mean his 1988 sticker psa 10 sells for 10k, but his xrc bgs 8.5 remains on the market 10k OBO!?

This. In fact, if you hate it, but everyone else loves it, side with everyone else.

Picked up a 1997-98 Metal Universe #23 Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls BGS 8.5 for $71 last week. Love the way the card looks.

Buying Finest and Chrome base cards along with inserts from the mid-90s.

ThoseBackPages 04-10-2020 09:53 AM

buy any and all $1 base cards you can

jerrygarcia 04-10-2020 09:55 AM

Also picked this up for $400.
Love the patch https://imgur.com/a/2DAA5KQ

The great thing about 90s MJ is that just about all of the base looks really awesome. Either great design or great photography. Look at Collector's Choice. A set intended for kids, but has better photography than anything Panini has ever put out.

Ehhh

Is this the same thread, over and over, worded different?

I started a "get 100 Bulls Jordan refractors" project- a few years back. Glad I did!

Who was the member who got 100 MJ Bulls autos as a project about 5 or 6 years ago?

Beavers98 04-10-2020 10:18 AM

I'm already looking at lake cabins, when I'm able to sell my 3 row monster box of Jordan Base Cards.

Chris P 04-10-2020 10:21 AM

I just picked up a Topps Chrome Preview..been wanting one for a long while just never put in real effort to get one until this week.

jgrann13 04-10-2020 11:20 AM

I grabbed his finest refractors.
1993
1994
1995 Orange
1996 Atomic Gold

1985 Star 117.

His stuff should be crazy.

new to blowout?

blinkme323 04-10-2020 12:05 PM

His Star Court Kings Jumbo XRC is creeping up, but still crazy underpriced IMO.

Willikn 04-10-2020 12:12 PM

The odd paper Topps love has not yet struck the base Jordan market. Those are still cheap. I think they should be, but I'm the guy who also thinks the Garnett and Duncan paper Topps rookies should be cheap.

If you say so.

OP is buying slabs, not cards.

GoNYGoNYGo 04-10-2020 12:24 PM

Oh man I didn’t realize how much Jordan stuff had taken off!

I got this like 3 weeks ago for $120 - last sale was $200
