Upper Deck 2019-2020 Series Two
I have only been collecting for about a year now and had a question about this new release. Online I see the release date for this series is 2/19. Do Wal Mart or Target typically have these in store on the release date? Thanks!
|
usually they don't. Also, you get less Young Guns in retail this year. Only one per blaster and two per tin. Used to be 2 and 3.
|
The retail product tends to be available after the hobby boxes hit hobby stores to give the initial wave of sales going towards to hobby stores right away.
So wait a few weeks and we should start to see the S2 retail offerings eventually on the shelves soon enough. |

Wow, that stinks....why would they make retail worse than it already is |

To create artificial scarcity while the herd buys it up in volume anyway. Retail Box is really the only way to go now it seems for just the YG collectors. 6 Blasters, 3 Tins or one Retail Box equals 6 YGs. Or buy Hobby for the Exclusives, HGs, Fanimations and other bigger hits along with the YGs. |
Wow, didnt know they shorted the retail YGs. Thats horrible
|
6 packs per blaster, so in average, there are 1.5 YGs per blasters. I got 7 YGs and 1 YG Canvas out of 5 UD1 19-20 blasters.

You stand a better chance of getting a Makar or Kakko going the Hobby route as well as getting additional inserts (hobby only), and as a set builder at the very least you get a good jump at completing the base set. Last year buying tins at around $30.00 and getting (3) YG's was the absolute way to go, paying the same price for (2) YG's this year has changed my thought process. And quite frankly I might just go the route of buying my YG's via Ebay, the marquee guys will be $30-$40 by this summer, with 2/3 of these YG's selling for $2-$5 bucks. |

[/QUOTE] There are 6 YGs per retail/hobby box so same odds. 24 packs each box. So strictly YG collectors get better value per Retail box at about 70% price of Hobby box. But you are correct- it's usually always cheaper to just buy the cards you want vs cracking wax. |

And you know it's far more fun to crack wax then purchasing off of Ebay. ;) |

Didnt see any blasters for these at target yet, prob a good thing I always get f** all from those lame fat packs. Its like $5 for base and a cheap insert if you're lucky, best off going to a local card shop (with a owner you like, and is not a fruitcake) and getting a few hobby packs. You actually might get something good

Uh, yes it is. :) At least up here in Canada. Retail boxes are 24 packs with 1/4 YGs same as Hobby. Just no #'d stuff. Cases of this stuff at my LCS. I'm not talking blasters, hangers, Walmart, Target, tins, dollar store, blister packs or any of that other low-odds garbage being peddled |
Bought 5 hobby packs @ $4 each, so equal to a blaster. Pulled two YGs, two OPC RCs and a Flouresence Kuhlman #/150. I think I’ll be buying hobby packs.

There are 30th anniversary 1/1 auto buybacks.

Retail Box/36 pack/6 YG, tin/10 packs/2 ish YG, and blaster/7 packs/1 ish YG Most tins will have only 2, but a few will have a third YG Most blasters will have only 1, but a few will have 2 YGs |
Ha wrong thread

So maybe like 2014 S2- might be a good idea to stock a few boxes. |
