Kobe contenders Auto Set... Personal thoughts?
 

The new Kobe Contenders Auto set is #'d to 17 cards I believe??

I really like the design of the cards...

great looking auto subset. Design looks classy

Kobe must have 25,000 Panini autos by now. I would only buy as a collector.

Good looking card! Should be in the $200 area

Love the look of the set. Agree, it has a old school classy look to it.

I've noticed that a lot of the autos run off the edge of the card.

I've been watching auctions of these on eBay and they are going for CRAZY money. I would love to get a jersey #8 Frobe auto at some point, and I like the look of a few of these, but I'm not willing to pay these prices. Hopefully they come back to earth at some point after this initial wave passes:

I think the first few will get good $$ as people try and make the set as quick as possible.

Top 5 non Patch Panini Kobe Auto’s IMO- especially since each card has no more than 10 copies. the Championship tributes specifically stands out.

Where did you get the bolded part information from? I know that these cards are rare, but I can't recall Panini officially announcing the print run of each card.

Just a guesstimate. Some cards in that series are rarely found on EBAY and other social media platforms, group breaks. PSA/BGS pop are also very low.

To this day, I’m still looking for his Contenders draft pick auto. I’ve only seen it twice. Once on EBAY last year and another on IG.

With cards like these, grades don’t matter much tbh. It’s the last of its kind. Doesn’t look good in a BGS holder though. That 9 Silver label can be an eye sore.

I watched quite a few contenders breaks, and these typically fell once per case about. With a 17 card set, there has to be more than 10 per copy..

They are in the retail blasters? How many blasters in a case?

Mine was just an estimate. There’s 43 graded in PSA and 60 in BGS.

And those are the total numbers for a 34 card set. Even if you disregard the other 17 were through redemption, it’s pretty low for a card that falls in 1 per case.

I have only see one other of this one surface. I have no doubt they are SSP unless Panini is holding them back for some odd reason.
Would love to know the exact number though. Still have no idea in value bc of the rarity but it’s priceless to me

These are one of my absolute favorite Kobe autos sets. Very clean and Classy design and the photos captured are some of the biggest moments in his career. I would love to have one for the PC
