SlabStox is horrible for the hobby.
I usually never post, but what I have witnessed happen is just the worst thing that could happen to the hobby. These guys created a membership program for a monthly fee where they would provide "insight" on players in basketball/baseball/football/hockey. Then they created another subscription when you could pay a monthly fee and they would send eBay auctions of listings of "value". Yesterday it came to light on the instagram community that they were pumping their cards, and then would sell on one of their moms account. I understand everything is free will and they didn't point a gun to your head and made you buy the cards they talked about, but in the hobby there are new members everyday, and they could easily be swayed by this. People were duped out of money, taking advice from guys who had only been collecting for 2 years. I know this happens all the time in the hobby, people coming on here and trying to pump LeBron/Jordan cards, but to be running a "legit" business and do this, that is pretty freaking low. They made a response to this, were they didn't want to take comments, and did not take ownership of what they have done. There's a difference of genuinly trying to help new people in the hobby, and then just swaying them for your own personal gain. Shoutout to all the people doing it the right way.

Website/IG account that gives "card investing" advice. |

So they're just hype men that pump up their own cards and pass it off as advice? |
It's like taking stock tips from a random online article... the positive one are written buy investors and the negative forcasts/articles are all written buy shortsellers.

Pretty much. They offer a subscription service that offers "advice" on what to invest. Then they sell the discussed cards using their mom's account |

No idea who these guys are but I looked up the IG account and ended up watching their response video. I’m going to start my own hype account for profit and teach social media nerds how to buy the correct size t-shirts. The stuffed sausage and man nipple look is not a good combination.

I actually don't worry about this type of business as they won't survive long. People with acknowledge with ignore them. People without acknowledge might trust them once and get hit badly and then turn to them with negative feedback directly on social media.

Just watched the "Turning $50 Into $87 In One Hour Flipping Sports Cards" video on youtube and couldn't help but laugh. Their "projected sale" numbers are hilariously off... like 2X all recent ebay comps.
There are plenty of idiots to buy their crap though |
The only people that you all should be blaming is yourselves if you're actually paying these subscription fees and buying into what they're saying without doing your own research. They are young entrepreneurs and trying to make some money from this hobby. People pump cards all the time, what they're doing isn't illegal, it isn't trimming or shilling.

Except it's not a scam at all. It just means there are lots of dumb people out there. |
