2019 Topps And The Curious Case of Bryce Harper
.... Please I beg of you ... no nasty or dumb comments....
So for years and years, Topps has inserted Bryce Harper Autographs into almost EVERY SINGLE product. When he decided to sign with the Phillies, I was thrilled because finally a "superstar" on my hometown team that I could collect. And OH! The Harper Hoskins Dual On Card from HERITAGE or HIGH # is going to be EPIC... But .... No sign of Bryce.... Did he have an agreement that ended or stop signing cards? I apologize if there has been a thread about this before but I could not find anything. |

They had an issue and were unable to get him into last year’s update with All Star and that was a big deal. |
He's guaranteed to make $330 million so I'm sure spending hours signing cards for tens of thousands of dollars is much less appealing to him. I'm sure he still has a price and I'm sure a card company will eventually be willing to pay that but the days of him having tons of autographs are over.

This would make his Phillie cards more valuable and pricier |
“Superstar”?
|
“Superstar”?
Obviously, if Harold Baines...nevermind... |
Bryce Harper, Harold Baines and Mario Mendoza walk into a bar..

There are better players, but not many are as well known outside of baseball as Bryce is. |
Overrated. The less the better.

I applaud your wish for no nasty or dumb comments. And I agree.
His season is speaks for itself, no need to add on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This Far from 330-worth but far from a flop Better than 95% of the garbage team |

And let's not forget, his $20million salary this year was paid for already between ticket purchases and his jerseys and such. The team isn't losing a penny on him this year. |
I know I’d b e ecstatic to have a guy with a “pretty good year” or “not a flop” yet make top tier money

His season is speaks for itself, no need to add on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
NL Ranks 3rd in doubles 2nd in walks on to his teammate 8th in RBIs... Seems like a good season to me... plays basically everyday. Gets pitched around constantly etc |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Harper making $20 mil this year... Strasburg almost 39, greinke almost 35, price 31, cespedes 29, pujols 28, "king felix" 28, lester 27.5, arrieta 25, j zimmerman 25, cano 24, heyward 22.5, kemp 21+, ellsbury 21, chris davis 21.... I'll take harper? |
thats a clown question bro
|
on pace for about 30 homers/100 rbis/100 runs/100 walks/45 doubles
already equal to his war last year. His defense and base running has always been for the most part below average so he is doing something right. |

For 300 mil that glass better be overflowing. Those of you glad to have Harper that’s good because you’re stuck with him. All the stats he has are by what he is supposed to have as the MLBs future. Other than his MVP year he hasn’t gone anything more than be a good player, not a perennial MVP and HOF caliber guy. Trout has left him in the dust while they were once considered the two best. One, EARNInG his contract, another having a pretty good season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

With the stats guys are putting up, 30 HR is what 20 used to be. He’s under 30 and was expected to be one of the best ever. So far he’s not. One if the best now? Maybe maybe not. I’m an Astros fan and when I saw they signed Brantley I was skeptical with his injury history and age. He’s having a career year. As I said before Harper was deemed the future stud of baseball. He hasn’t been that except for 2015 but a lot of mediocre players have an MVP. If we want to say he’s a solid player that has had a good career, borderline great, I’m ok with that. But is he worth what he was paid? No way. Has he justified the contract? Not so far. It’s just one season for sure. He could hit 45 HR a year the next 7 years and I will change my tune in him. Buts it’s been since 2012 and he’s yet to fulfill his promise. People act like he’s on the same level with the elite players but he’s not, and many can’t accept that. Franco hitting 30+ HR, Hoskins etc is acceptable. It’s not for Harper considering how he presents himself and how many collectors especially see him. To me it’s like paying steak prices and getting a hamburger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
