Cody Bellinger
I know the hobby hates him now, but still has one of the purest swings I have seen. He is off to a hot start. Doubt his cards will ever rebound .. could be wrong thoughts?
|
Him and Buxton will make a hell of a team for the most hated

4 HRS in 4 Games... me thinks they will start loving him again, at least Dodgy fans

I bet Bellingers card prices rebound significantly... He is on a Top 5 team for card prices and fan base. He is still extremely young.
They may not go back to the top again but they can see drastic movement |
I don't care where his prices go. I love watching him play, and especially when he swings. It's beautiful, lol...
The hobby will always have new darlings, if he produces, I'll be happy. |
Damn... I sold his PSA 10 Bowman red too cheap!
Sitting on a decent stash of higher end cards. |
He’s super popular in LA..also has the #14 top selling jersey in MLB. I know that’s not the same as card popular, but if he performs I think the potential is there for prices to rebound. A lot.

This thread needs pics |
He still has a very reasonable chance to get to 100 career HR before his 25th birthday. Not too shabby
|
So far this season, it's been Yeli and Belli.
Both hitting .500 with 4 homers in 4 games, but Cody could get at least one more at-bat today to go for 5. |
Funny how fast so many gave up on him
|
i wouldn't call his swing pure tho. violent maybe...........and great
|
Looks like he’s changed his approach too- not swinging for the fences every at bat. Great at bat today in the 8th inning just staying alive. Eventually got on base and scored the tying run. Let’s see if he can sustain, if so, he’s young enough for his cards to rebound significantly.
|
Someone just bought all the green BC gems for $1100-1200 and a purple for $855 it looks like. That’s a big jump from a few weeks ago.

His TC RC Autos also jumped nearly 50% already. My guess is his base make their way to $100 very very quickly again |
I don't think most people gave up on him... just the ones that bought at peak and thought he was going to hit 50 in his sophomore season. His numbers last year weren't bad, he just came back to earth as the league adjusted, which is to be expected. The same could happen with Acuna, although he has the speed factor to make up for it to a degree.
|
He's still very young on one of baseball's most popular teams. What's not to like? I'm still holding him and expect a big 2019.
|
Most of my Bellinger junk just got cleaned up on COMC, when he starts sucking again Ill be happy, lol
|
can he save 2017 Heritage Hi#?

They will be in here shortly to bash on him |
Pure swing? The one that got massively exploited by the Astros in the WS two years ago? I admit to not watching a lot of Dodgers games but he had a massive hole in his swing, if he fixed it great but pure that swing is not.
|
Well, his NLCS MVP award from last year notwithstanding, Bellinger's a mere 20 for 116 in the playoffs with 45 k's and only 8 walks, basically a difference of 100 points off his batting average from the 2017 and 2018 regular seasons. 35 or so bombs in 2019 would be most welcome for Dodger fans, but Cody's definitely got to improve from his past performances come playoff time to truly relight his hobby fire in the larger sense.
|
Huge fan of Belli. Didn't get too into his cards, though I have one or two. But he's fun to watch. Kid's not even 24 and he had over 60 home runs over his first 2 seasons
