Topps Now Futures
Based on the email we just got, it's looking like there's going to be yet another Topps online brand...
Topps Now Futures. |
........
|
That is the new terms they will use for redemptions.
I really think it will be prospect based like Bowman. Should be interesting. I do kind of wish they would have called it Bowman Futures or Bowman Now if that is correct. |

That is going to be the biggest checklist ever! |
On the home screen at Topps.com, hover your mouse over "Topps Now" on the red bar, and three selections appear: "Available Now", "Archive", and "Topps Now Futures". There's also a logo button next to the MotW and CotM buttons.

This will be a new product. In short, you will buy a pack that will give you three cards as "entries" with a code on the back. If your entry wins (World Series, MVP, etc), you get a special Chrome Topps Now card (some will be numbered).
It's kind of like Golden Ticket gambling |

I believe the first one will be teams to win the WS. You buy a pack and it has three teams (cards).

The first series of Topps Now Futures is up on website.
However, I'm having hard time understanding the details. Can someone teach me as if I'm a 3rd grade student please. I mean, how do they put the scratch offs on back, if the 2019 WS hasn't happened yet? /// TOPPS NOW® Future cards offer fans and collectors a chance to win big based on the results of the 2019 season! Future Cards feature a player and possible future moment on the front, and a variable prize and scratch-off redemption code on the back. Each TOPPS NOW® Future World Series® card featuring the MLB Baseball Team that wins the 2019 World Series has a code on the back that can be entered on Topps.com to redeem the prize indicated on the back of the card! Enter your code at Topps.com/toppsnowfutureredeem after the 2019 World Series. /// |
90 base card checklist...
It takes at least 30 packs ($360) to complete the set in perfect collation, and then on to the next set in 2 weeks. There is the usual "Available 2 weeks or while supplies last" wording on the product listing, but not sure how many they have produced. |

If the card you have wins the world series, you get the prize that is on the back of the card, but you do have to scratch the code.. Kind of like the HomeRun Challenge, (except you don't have to pick a date) No need to scratch it off until after the world series as the expiration date is 12/31/2019... Also, the way it looks, If you have the complete set of 90, then you will win the chrome set (or 3) depending on what the other 2 cards say |

PRIZES: *Exclusive Future Prizes • 2019 Chrome TOPPS NOW World Series 20-card team set o Base, # to 199, 99, 49, 25, 10, 5, and 1 • Mystery Player On-Card Autograph Card o # to 50, 25, 10, 5, and 1 Question now... Are the Autos going to be Chrome too? |
And reward points count. Yeah!
|
Am I right in thinking there are only 25 of each team if the reward for winning is a team set #25?
Just read it again, I guess the card backs will say the set numbering. Still few possibilities per team. 2019 Chrome TOPPS NOW World Series 20-card team set - Base, # to 199, 99, 49, 25, 10, 5, and 1 Thanks, Vinny |

Wonder if 30 packs are bought if you will receive a complete set like other on demand and TN products?
|
PACK ODDS: Approximate odds per pack of finding Specific Team Future Card 1:10; Specific Team Mystery Autograph Redemption 1:120.
|
It'll be interesting to watch how these are sold on eBay
|
So, looks like 479 total prizes x 30 teams = 14,370 cards or 4,790 packs.

Limit is 50 per order. I think you can go for a complete set of 90 if that is your thing. However, you want as many cards of the team you think will win the World Series if you want to claim one of the exclusive prizes.
In the example for Aaron Judge, the prize on the back is for a /25 set. However, the prize can vary on the back so you may want to collect the Judge with the /199, /99, /49, /10, /5 and /1 set on the back to get all the Judges. I'm sure there are going to be Judges with the /50, /25, /10, /5, /1 mystery auto as the prize on the back. That would make 12 possible Judges if those are factored in if I am understanding this correctly. They said the prize is variable on the back. Anyone planning to collect all 12 variations if that is how it is going to work?
90 base card checklist... What would we predict? I can see them doing this for the All Star Game. Predict the Home Run Derby champ, maybe? |
