Is KD coming to the Knicks?
Been a ton of speculation around the media and a lot of folks are talking about Kevin Durant joining the Knicks either this off season or the following year.
Do you guys think KD will join the knicks in a year or two? Furthermore, do you think KD will be paired up with the likes of Kyrie and/or Anthony Davis? |
That is the Knicks best case scenario plan and the reason why traded away Kristaps for salary cap. But who knows if KD really want to come.

The Knicks what you to think so:

I’ve been predicting this since immediately following the 2018 finals - he’s gonna be a Knick

Card wise what does that do to his value? He goes from being an MVP candidate on a championship team, to a team thats been irrelevant for decades and probably isnt going anywhere anytime soon.
|
I think it's more possible after seeing his last interview
|
Can KD handle the NY media and fans though?
|
Seems too hard to predict where kd will go. How many knew he was gs bound? Seems more a by product of the media. They love talking big markets.

Not a chance. It will be epic tho. |

It will be epic tho.
He will need multiple burner accounts. Maybe he has already created one/two per day , so he will have enough if he comes to NY lol |
Time for KD to go full Sparta in NY.
House money. Everything to gain, little to lose. All good if he stays another year in GS. |

We shouldn't have traded Porzingis. We needed to dump Hardaway's contract
The Knicks what you to think so:
Just another example of the Knicks being the Knicks.... a laughing joke
Card wise what does that do to his value? Sounds more like a pipe dream to me.
Can KD handle the NY media and fans though?
Good question, and tough to answer. Also, hard to go from an organization as well run as the dubs to James Dolan and the Knicks... |

Not really. 3 or 4 under the same narrative... or unprecedented glory?

That's what I'm wondering. He's a pretty sensitive guy and already having some issues with the media. So why would he put himself in the position of having to deal with the extremely aggressive NY media? Being the perceived "savoir" of the franchise also means taking all the blame if you can't actually save said franchise. My gut feeling is that he either re-ups with the Warriors for the max or joins Kawhi (and possibly AD) with the Clippers. LA is much more low-key than NYC is. |
I remember hearing that one of the reasons he joined the Warriors was because he loves the west coast. Apparently he always enjoyed living and playing in Seattle during his rookie year, and wanted to return to the area. Obviously this type of thing can change for people, but it may be a factor.

I bet he's considering it. But it's tough to walk away from championships and a good environment. Best case scenario, he'll have half the amount of talent in New York and half the amount of management competency. I'd peg it as 40% odds he leaves Golden State.

Important thread... whatever he decides will have a seismic impact on the league.
Clippers would also be cool. Just don't see him joining a team like the Celtics; better to stay. |
Seems like he is at the age and point in his career where he would want to build his own team. He is already confident that he is the best player in the NBA, going to the Knicks will give him the opportunity to build a team he wants and prove it.

Plus expected to have same ring total as Lebron at arrival. House money. Been saying KD to Knicks specifically is 20%, chance of leaving (to any other team other than Dubs) probably closer to 50%. I love my Dubs but the team can't complain. Another year before Knicks would be sweet, as well. |
There's zero chance soft cupcake KD takes the risk of leaving the 73 win team he joined. He is too fragile mentally to go to New York and lose. It's all an act with him. No way he leaves.
|
If he wants to play for a NY team, why not just join the Nets? They aren't a dumpster fire, have a good GM & coach, have a ton of young talent, and are making the playoffs this year. With him they would be in the top 4-5 teams in the East.
How long has it been since the Knicks made it to a Conference Finals? 20 years? |
Durant, Irving, Zion, Knox would be one hell of a team in the East...
|
For once we agree. :D Or swap in AD...
