Brad Hand to the Indians

Per Rosenthal & Heyman

Hope he takes Allen's job for my fantasy team's sake :coffee:

Regardless, great pickup Hand is incredibly underrated.

ALBASKETBALL 07-19-2018 10:13 AM

Dayum!!!!!

would think Meija or T-Mac or Beiber would be invloved with a Nolan Jones type player

Hollywood42 07-19-2018 10:16 AM

Wow, that'll be huge for the Tribe. Wonder what they gave up. He should be sneakily expensive with 3 years of control left. I'd think McKenzie and Mejia are safe, but I wonder if Bieber's on the move

Brewers3 07-19-2018 10:16 AM

Padres are going to have a bunch of nice young prospects.

jeff24k 07-19-2018 10:17 AM

Can't wait to see who they got for him. Padres had been valuing Hand incredibly high (and rightfully so with that contract).

texmcpherson 07-19-2018 10:19 AM

Holy SH#@t it is Mejia

Hollywood42 07-19-2018 10:20 AM

Mejia!!

Jaypers 07-19-2018 10:20 AM

Hedges who?

LCM1223 07-19-2018 10:20 AM
Holy SH#@t it is Mejia
What’s worse?

Mejia to Padres

Or Diaz to O’s

texmcpherson 07-19-2018 10:20 AM

Someone check on Tkraft please

ALBASKETBALL 07-19-2018 10:21 AM

Meija is a nice get for the Padres

marlinsmaniac20 07-19-2018 10:21 AM

jaw dropping...

Hollywood42 07-19-2018 10:22 AM

You know, thinking about this more, I'm actually not that surprised. Top relievers with team control are going to be some of the best bargaining chips teams have. Mejia also feels like he's been falling this year rather than rising. Still a great trade for the Padres, I think

jeff24k 07-19-2018 10:22 AM

Obvious Indians think Hand = Andrew Miller 2.0. Friendly contract just like Miller.

Stech36 07-19-2018 10:23 AM

Adam Cimber going to Indians too. He’s been solid this year. I think those two together are worth Mejia

Hollywood42 07-19-2018 10:24 AM

Hand and Climber for Mejia, just like that

yanksfan0134 07-19-2018 10:24 AM

Wait, what happens to Hedges? His bats actually heating up as of late and he’s a great defender. Does he get dealt or play part time?

jewcer2k5 07-19-2018 10:24 AM

Who takes over in SD?

jeff24k 07-19-2018 10:25 AM
Wait, what happens to Hedges? His bats actually heating up as of late and he’s a great defender. Does he get dealt or play part time?
This assumes Padres see Mejia as a catcher. Wondering if he ends up in LF.

Hollywood42 07-19-2018 10:26 AM

Don't think Mejia is quite ready to take over catching full time right away. Probably should start getting some time pretty quick, but the job should still be Hedges'..... for now
Meija is a nice get for the Padres
Is that for real?

Wow great move SD

Indians needed pen help so bad. It’s a good deal for. Both sides. I was hoping(praying) my cards could make something happen for Mejia but I know it was a long shot

Initially a Wash IMO

Big get for the Padres getting a top prospect

Indians had to make a bullpen splash and this is beyond a homerun.

ALBASKETBALL 07-19-2018 10:29 AM

2 for 1.

No other players invlved

SethMurphy 07-19-2018 10:29 AM

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mejia head to AAA for SD for a bit. Keep improving. There isn't any reason for them to rush him to the majors and force his clock. They aren't winning this year.

I would expect him to win the job for opening day next season though, maybe a September call-up.

The Indians needed this depth in their bullpen though, they couldn't rely on Neil Ramirez and Dan Otero in October this year

Jimbo8 07-19-2018 10:32 AM
What’s worse?

Mejia to Padres

Or Diaz to O’s
and the dump begins as these two prospects go to baseball purgatory
