Would the 1996 Bulls have beaten the 2018 Warriors?
Seems like the MJ and Warriors fans have joined together to bask in LeBrons loss. Well how do they feel about each other?
Would the 1996 Bulls have beaten the 2018 Warriors? Seems like Jordan and team could have lost to this squad, where 3s dominate, not Jordans 2 point drives. Let the debate begin! Before everyone goes happy go jacky selecting the Bulls, look at the data first. The Bulls lost 2 games to the Sonics. Rodman never was a scorer and he ain't guarding any of the Warriors 3 point shooters. Paint is his comfort zone. Pippen averaged 15.6 PPG on horrendous shooting. Jordan is essentially LeBron, wash |
yes, would sweep them
|
A healthy 2018 Houston Rockets could beat them.
|
Rodman on KD
Jordan on Steph Pippen on Klay advantage... Bulls |
Incongruent.
Can't even vote. |
Definitely the 96 Bulls, MJ being the main reason obviously but overall they’d match up very well. That bulls team was so solid all around and likely the best team in history. Even the Shaq / Kobe Lakers dynasty would beat this warriors team.

The thing the Bulls had going for them matchup wise is they could run out a small balll lineup themselves of
Rodman Pippen Kukoc Jordan Harper And switch everything and attack defensively Houston managed to get up in them and play some games in the 90s and low 100s so I’d give it to the Bulls in 96 assuming they could do that as well and wouldn’t have James Harden and instead would have Michael Jordan The 3s vs 2s debate is compelling but the Bulls already had some good shooters on the team and if the rules were such where 3s would be important to success then the Bulls would shoot it much better than they likely will get credit for on these boards. If many of today’s centers can add the 3 to their repertoire I see no reason why Jordan and Pippen couldn’t improve and be deadly as well. |
Rodman on KD

I have a feeling Luc wouldn’t see the floor much in that series
|
Rose tinted glasses in full effect. It would have been a much better series than what we just got, but the Bulls fall in 6 or 7. It also depends on if Chicago is allowed to play defense. If they are, the series turns in a hurry.

Went with the traditional starting 5. But yeah, probably swap out the 5s for Kukoc and Iguodala then. |
1996 Sonics would wipe the warriors all day long.
|
I count 13 Sir Charles and counting
:santa: Chaaaaaaaaaaamps !!! |
If the Warriors shut down Jordan, or keep up with his scoring... Who on the Bulls helps Jordan out? Pippen is number 2 averaging 17 PPG on 39% FG in playoffs. That wouldn't get it done against the Warriors.

A healthy warriors team would smash those healthy rockets though. |
Rules have entirely changed in the last twenty years?
Which ones have changed that would materially impact this series?
3 point line is likely further, but Bulls not keeping up with warriors in that category in either era. Everyone loving the Bulls since they are coined as the best team ever, but warriors much deeper team and 3 point shot a further massive advantage. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk |
Draymond and Rodman would be tossed game 1 by the 3rd quarter, Rodman gets draymond to swing on him, and a fight ensues.
Both suspended remainder of series It would be a hell of a series though |
Either way Kerr wins.

Players from the 90's and early 2000's didn't chuck up 10+ 3's a game with regularity because it would result in being placed in the doghouse and being chewed out by the coach. Not like they weren't capable of making 3's in greater quantities. It's an entirely different landscape and shift in offensive mindset. Just like the NFL and how modern day QB's have 40-50+ attempts per game, whereas the running game dominated previous generations. |
