There is a widely known fan theory that Schwimmer was playing the character as if he had Aspergers. It would actually explain a lot of his reactions and idiosyncrasies.

Ross was annoying but he drove plotlines. Phoebe was superfluous.

Phoebe, she was the duff

Phoebe seemed to be the most pointless character. It's like they needed another female to "balance" out the cast.

Phoebe for me, I didn't mind Ross....he had quite a few classic moments

I voted Chandler. He just annoyed me for some reason. I love Phoebe. I can't believe all the hate. The whole cast worked well together.
