Bubble Era Baseball Card Hall of Fame 2/3

10 Attachment(s)
Hey Blowout. Time for another poll.

This will be the first poll for Bubble Era Baseball cards that will be voted on to get inducted into the BCHOF. For more information and prior Hall of Fame inductees, read this main thread: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/baseball/1080616-official-blowout-baseball-card-hall-fame.html

Below are a list of ten cards from 1986-1994. Vote on the ones which you think deserves to be in the Blowout Baseball Card Hall of Fame. Any card that breaks 50% will make the Hall of Fame this time around. If it does not break 50% the card may or may not be going on the next ballot. If a card does not get 10% of the votes, it is banned from getting inducted into the BCHOF.

Here we go:

1, 5, & 7 :)!

I feel like ALL of those should be in the BBC Hall of Fame. The Variations on the Johnson are fun to chase- I don't know if anyone remembers all of those!

dashcol 02-03-2017 08:28 PM

I may be different from a lot of people in the way I vote. I try to take the players career out of the picture and look at just the card and what that card means. For me this was actually an easy decision, there are three cards up there that are industry changing cards IMO.

I don't want to say what those are, but what I wanted to say is I think there should be a place in the Baseball card HOF where full sets go in. I think the Desert Storm set needs to be placed in as a set not just the Chipper.

I actually saw those when doing some research. There was a Marlboro ad that apparently is very SP

signal_fifty 02-03-2017 08:37 PM

1,3,7,10.

That Canseco is the first modern card that I remember going for near $100 right from release.

WhacksPacks 02-03-2017 08:39 PM

1 and 3 defined a generation.

ktemme 02-03-2017 09:06 PM

Lol. Two years after release it was 11.00 high Beckett. Griffey UD was worth more at release and worth more earlier than 86 Donruss Canseco.

Glad to see the 93 Finest Refractors represented. The Griffey should be there. Hotest set ever at release. 1, 5, 7 and 10.

As long as you guys keep suggesting cards, they will be represented.
Anything special you guys want to see for Today's era?

Anything but a Harper Auto!

But in reality there should be a time limit just like. In the hall. The card should have been out for at least seven years before it can be voted on. That keeps whatever the hot prospect is from gaining a whole lot of votes just because he is hot right now.

Im not doing prospects so you wont see like a chrome bregman auto or whatever. But a Trout BC auto is much different!

Corky 02-03-2017 10:26 PM

It is difficult because they all would fit nicely in the card HOF but I am going with the 89 UD Griffey. After that I would say 5, 6 & 7.

The first UD Ruth bat card. That was a huge controversy when Upper Deck cut that up. The first Griffey jersey card. The UD cut auto of the 1st five Hofers. The usual bowman chrome RC autos. 2001 Ultimate Collection Ichiro RC.

texmcpherson 02-03-2017 10:44 PM

I feel like a traitor for going against the Griffey but for my generation I gotta go with the 93' SP Jeter, that card is like royalty.

TarjetasBéisbol 02-03-2017 11:07 PM

So many collectors have no idea how many Griffey cards were churned out, no way should it be part of any card HOF.

T206 02-03-2017 11:08 PM

you guys could vote for more than one

Brewer Andy 02-03-2017 11:09 PM

'90 Leaf Frank Thomas.,'87 Fleer Will Clark, '89 Fleer Bill Ripken FF, and '90 Score Bo Jackson "Bo Knows" card for future polls :)

palmetto7 02-03-2017 11:27 PM

Well, until the steroid issues that 94 Arod card was an absolute monster....id still have to put it in there

Just because there were a lot made does not mean it is not an iconic card. Yes it is prevalent but it still started upperdeck and a big part of what started variety in the industry.

I agree with the FF card. The first major error card that started a sub culture in the hobby of people searching out and collecting these more rare error cards. I mean look at what cards like that have created now in the heritage sets with the purposely implanted error cards.
