certainly not my experience that there are many $10 cards offered at 2.50. plenty of $10 cards priced at $35 that get marked down to $7 that you might be able to get 10 for eventually.
but obviously i'm doing it wrong. maybe certain ports have a following? or this was a port purchase? |

Sweet pick ups and sales!
No. Singles.
|
I've identified a half dozen cards I can buy for 5-6 bucks and flip for 15+...can't give out my secrets.
|
Since you won't give us your secrets, I guess I have to look at your $15 plus and see what they have in common :)
I just flipped a Soler auto for $8 profit in less than 24 hours. Probably helped the Cubs were active the past couple days :) |
I've really increased my spending the last couple of days, but I've picked up some great cards that I can make a buck or two on. If they don't sell soon, I should be able to dump them off for a profit during the special listing promotion week at the end of the month.
|
I have been trying to flip but have had no success. What are you all buying that you can flip so easily.
|
I have been trying to flip but have had no success. What are you all buying that you can flip so easily.
Im only relatively new to this (6 months or so) but I would say PATIENCE!!! right now, COMC is as bad for flipping as I have seen it, no ones blowing there port out, the sales that are 75% off were overpriced to start with and we have just had the black friday sales where there were flips a plenty! (I picked up almost 300 cards solely for flipping and I didnt even go as hard as I could have) You need to be patient, if there's nothing to flip then just wait, there will be someone blowing out there port with 75% off fair market or already low prices soon enough. I have almost $100 in my account from recent sales the last few days that I cant spend for the life of me, Ive even started to prospect a cpl of NBA players out of boredom who have some ridiculously priced low end auto's and are playing well this year. Ive also tried to buy some pc items but the sellers wont budge from $40-50 on a $20 card, they dont even counter... If any one has an older style Tony Parker auto (when his sig was nice) and wants to sell around ebay price, let me know, or a nice low-mid end Spurs uni D Rob... Timing is massive too. Ive hit some blowout sales as soon as they've gone live and loaded up. Ive also been beaten out by others before the site refreshes and missed out on some huge deals. Being in an opposite time zone in a different hemisphere hurts and helps in that regard. Thats a bit of my take anyway |
Updated. It's been slow, but a little profit is better than no profit.
Reason for optimism: I can make profit $.20 every day for a year than I would profit $73 for that time frame. |

My reasoning is the opportunity cost of cash in the pocket outweighs waiting months for a "bit" more. |
Some for me:
12/15 Sold for $1.94 Bought for $1.00 Sold for .58 Bought for .30 12/13 Sold for .57 Bought for .30 Sold for .57 Bought for .32 Sold a bunch of inventory the last two days that was all sent in and processed by me. |
Sorry for the noob question that has probably been asked a million times but where is the option to have the card put directly in your port rather than have it mailed to me?
When I go to check out I only see options to have it shipped. |
Just price it and hit enter. Should show up for sale.

do you have store credit before making the purchase? |
But when I go to buy it I can only have it shipped to me. How can I checkout without having to pay a shipping price?
Go to "make an offer" page. Make an offer of the full price. |
If you have store credit, just purchase it with that option on the cart screen or hit the purchase now button. If you don't have credit, you will need some to purchase cards to flip.

I profited 19 cents off you! BOOM. :D |
thought maybe you bought one and flipped it, but now i remember i just got one from you last night. that's like a century ago in comc time tho...
|
I've had many successful flips on comc, typically in the 10-20% on average. A few in the 40%-50%+.
Like a previous poster said, key is patience and shopping for deals especially on black Friday weekend promos, etc. I've been burned a few times of course, but finished on top more often then not. Items under $4 are quicker to flip, higher items are riskier. |

I have flipped almost 2000 cards on the site now :) |
I just made my best flip of the month seconds ago.
Bought a card for $14.50 today which was much higher than I wanted to pay, but the seller wasn't budging. Just sold it for $19.99. |
Just made my first ever flip!!!! Bought a card today for $3.00 and just sold it for $4.68. I know that isn't a lot but it just made me happy that I finally had a successful flip.
|
I'm currently running a 50% off sale right off the top on all my cards in my port, and some of my stuff is selling a few cents lower than what I bought it for :/ :( oh well!
-Brandon |
same here at 40% didn't raise prices either. Some are unique to the site and lowest priced,if not the lowest they will be with the sale.
|
I have flipped two cards there. One I bought for $.55 and sold for $.60 (decided I didn't want it shipped so I relisted it) and the other I bought to possibly flip one day and it worked. I bought it for $1.22 and sold for $3, so not bad on that one. I have one other card in my port right now I bought and decided not to get shipped and if it sells it'll sell for like $2 less than I bought it for, so that'll eat all the profit I've made on the other two, haha.
That's if it sells right now during my 45% off sale, but it's been slow today. I've sold one card through amazon and two from the sale. |

I usually have it on, but I turned it off and will have it off during the sale. 20% off of ~20% off is not something I'd be happy about. |

Do you get a lot of sales through amazon when it is on though? |

I am pretty sure cards stay at full price during sales when they are on amazon. |

If the card sells through Amazon it takes the 20% off your original asking price. The sale prices are not visible to Amazon people. Therefore the card I sold this morning there actually sold for more than it would have if they bought it through the site. |
Do you get a lot of sales through amazon when it is on though?
I have been selling 2-3 cards a week through Amazon. I only have about 250 cards, so it's decent sales. As long as you are comfortable with 20% your prices it's a good way to go. I would however be extra careful with how you price your high value items if you decide to use the Amazon feature. |

No problem, I was worried about the same thing. Overall I am happy w/ the cards that have sold through Amazon as they are the ones I figured I'd be stuck w/ for awhile. |
Updated..... I've had one card pending sale (Amazon I'm assuming) that has been pending for 5 hours.
|
amazon is definitely worth it, and yes, any promotional pricing is not reflected there.
as for flips, i do it all the time. best one recently i purchased for 9.75 and sold a few days later at 49.75. bought something on comc at 2.75 and sold on ebay at 24.50 and 2 more comc buys at 2.75 and 4.75 are about to sell at 23 for the pair. often you need to ship things to yourself and list them on ebay to get a sale, much less full value. i had a 2013 topps update ssp mariano rivera that i snatched up for 9 on comc sitting there for 2 months as low as 57.50. got 94 on ebay, which is normal for it. you don't always find those but smaller items are pretty easy to find. i didn't submit anything for about 8 months and just flipped. i may submit a little more now. |

I'm waiting on my Anthony Davis prizm rookies to sell because I'll make good profit on them. I bought them $12-$14.50 each and have them listed at $17. I'm suprised they've been sitting at $17 for 3 days now because I sold one for $20 on Dec. 23 and they've been selling for $20-$25 on Ebay. I also just picked up a Chris Sale autograph for $6.50 which I'm pretty happy about. I have it listed at $8.75 and it should sell fairly quick. |
Bought over 65 blue waves, black waves, oranges /25, and different numbered chrome for 20 bucks. Listing them at a $1+
|
I started selling on COMC earlier this month and my port is only around 400 cards. The cards are mostly under $5, but of bigger names. The best flip I had was last night on a Frank Thomas insert I bought for $1.80 and sold for $4.50 about 90 minutes later.
|
decided to try and flip some will myers today. lets see how that goes for me.
|
I've lost track of my flips, but I'm probably at about $60 for the month with most reinvested.

I just sold a card for $3.74. The buyer sent me an offer of $2.95 and I tried to click accept, but it said I was unable to accept the offer. So, I refreshed my dashboard page and he ended up buying it for $3.74. He actually sent me offers of $3.35 and $3.55 between his first offer and his purchase. It worked out for me. I guess he was trying to find my minimum acceptance percentage. :)
|
that happens a lot with a bin/obo format. i've made plenty over the years just because i live on the west coast. sit down to check your email and you see someone sent an offer at like 5am pst and just decided to bite off the whole thing like an hour later. all while i was soundly asleep. thanks time zones!
|
I've sold 1/10th of my port in the last 16 hours without a sale. :)
Having good prices on my new stuff (185 cards uploaded yesterday) is helping me sell stuff I've been sitting on for a month. Not much flipping, but I've had about five cards with $.10 profit. |
Bought a 2010 Topps Chrome Wrapper Redemption Buster Posey Refractor BGS 10 for $56.25 and sold it 10 minutes later for $98.99. Talk about a fast profit.

Very nice, congrats. Thanks for the Meyer purchase! |
I have not submitted any cards to COMC, but I have determined there is a potential to make profits flipping cards bought there or on eBay. But my question to you OP is simple (and forgive me if it has been asked, I did not read the whole thread), after fees for withdrawing your money (and all other fees).. is it worth it? Do you have a percentage (invest/profit after fees)?
thanks for your time! TaToRz |

thanks for your time! TaToRz
If you are submitting cards to COMC, it depends. With flips though, I'd say it's worth it. I profited over $60 in December. After fees, the $60 would have a cash out value of $48. Just be comfortable with what you are paying and the time it may take to sell the card. |

I have a few cards on ebay that have not sold in over 2 months.. but my price is right, so I wait. hehe I might just try the flipping game to see how it goes. I would rather get a good card out of it than cash out, but what I like is overpriced (lol - reread my first sentence..) although I would also like to get a bunch of cheap error/var as well.. hmm.. I might just do it in a month or two.. just went through a few hundred items on comc.. saw 6 or 7 cards I could sell for 300%-1000% profit on eBay.. I guess I will have to monitor what they will sell for on COMC first.. if not comc - flip - eBay :-D thanks for your insight! TaToRz |

if you consider offering 20-25% off lowballing, ok. i'd rather not deal with someone who has enough anger to feel that way and to have grammatical guides in their signature (also, safire, lowball is one word). your cards are still unsold; i certainly won't ever be buying them. |
Not even worth the nonsense.....
|
Made $5 profit on five same day flips yesterday. The best was a RC purchase for $2.55 and I sold it for $4.50. :)!
I've been finding great deals lately. :) 99 sales this month with my port at around 500 total cards. |
