It’s not the AI that worries me so much, it’s the humans developing/implementing it. Humanity will absolutely screw this up in the name of greed and power.

I rarely agree with jcard but he’s 100% correct

Useful when applied correctly but a crutch in other situations.

Some of my students use it to write papers completely and when asked about the subject or topic they researched/written, cannot explain anything or with little depth or understanding.

It's why I request to teach as many in-person classes as possible. I'd rather do in-person paper exams and have free-response sections than having to police/monitor online exams with that Respondus Lockdown Browser + Webcam our college uses.

I don't hate AI but social media platforms do need to start flagging stuff as AI and possibly have an option to not show any AI. IG and Facebook are nothing but AI Bot slop propaganda as of late.
