Well, it's coming to that time of the year. Can we better last years deals? :rolleyes:

I feel like we are definitely turning the corner and should see some good deals this year, but we are likely a year or two away from Black Friday being fun again with a boatload of cheap stuff.

This is what I was thinking. There just haven't been enough unique products - if that makes sense. EVERYTHING seems to have been Star Wars or Marvel. That's it. And box prices are, even if slowly, becoming less than ridiculously unreasonable. It's going to take a couple years of some product(s) not being too popular or selling quickly to end up with reasonable 'deals' again.

I expect the same disappointing deals we’ve seen the last 3-4 years. Nothing will top the previous decade but that’s the way it goes. There aren’t any ‘steals’ in this ‘hobby’ anymore.

I imagine that warehouses are pretty quickly moving what is coming through. There's nothing released recently sitting at the back wall to be discounted, because of the speculative frenzy of the past couple of years.

MCU trash product (Eternals, Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, Wandavision, etc) is really the only thing that comes to mind but they're already discounted and have been for a while

I'm really looking forward to UD Marvel Comics sealed product taking off as supplies are either dried up or nearly so

This one initially caught my eye, but watching some breaks this morning I am not sure where there is any real value in the set. I guess there are autographs that are nearly impossible to find, and even the numbered parallels don't seem to sell for that much.

It’s a pretty boring break. I got one numbered in 3 boxes. Here is the original Blowout thread for it if you want to get an idea of what people thought of it after it hit. General consensus was it was overprinted and should have been like

I was a bit tempted with the Keepsake RAMBO ones that seemed kinda cool. On BO 5 box case down from $700 to $390...so checked Ebay and saw these 5 box cases can be bought for about $200

If I found something I was going to buy some of the Big Bang Theory binders that had a binder exclusive relic for $29.95 as an add-on to the order....but those seem to have mysteriously evaporated from the site

So a competitor had started their BF sales today. They had 20 box cases of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot for $48.75. I am assuming that was a mistake as it has since been corrected to $478.19 for a 10 box case (no 20 box cases listed). I did snag a 20 box case at the said price. Will be interesting if it goes through.

Still need to get a Mewes autograph (preferably hard-signed) for my collection (I have two hard-signed three-way autos from Clerks, both of which have Kevin Smith on them) - but I was able to scoop up autographs from the Jay & Silent Bob Reboot set of Joey Lauren Adams as Alyssa and of Harley Quinn Smith for under $50 for the pair on COMC.

I didn't realize that Kevin Smith and Joey Lauren Adams dated back when Chasing Amy was being made.

Holy smokes, she couldn't hide her hatred for that movie, which she basically admits Kevin wrote about THEIR relationship - that she had "experienced life" a lot more than Kevin (makes sense - he was an overweight movie nerd - she was a pretty young girl trying to make her way to Hollywood) - and that Kevin's jealousy came out constantly, and Kevin was basically Ben Affleck's character IRL.

They had broken up by the time the movie was ready for release, and she does NOT look back on that movie or that time of her life fondly, to say the least.

She was very coridial on Day 1 of 2 of shooting the documentary with her, and she filmed some of it with Smith on Day 1, but she mother-f'd him up and down on Day 2 after Smith left and it was just her and the documentary maker.

You ever go to the Secret Stash in Red Bank, NJ? Kevin and Jason are there quite often. If you're not concerned about your autos being pack-pulled you can pretty easily get Jay on whatever you want. They just had an event yesterday, it was $75 and you got a pic with them and could get I think it was 3 items signed.

Putting my town's name and Red Bank, NJ into Google Maps shows I'm only 80 miles and 90 minutes away. Easy drive!

Yeah I live near Philly and went to one of the events a few years ago - it was the same price, we got signed action figures and a poster, they signed anything else we brought, got pics with... was an incredible value for the cost.

Looked the store up and followed them on Insta - Smith was signing like 3-4 items per customer and taking pics in one video they sped up like 25x ... was very cool.

May need to take the drive - I'm a weekly comic reader so even if no one was there, would be cool to buy some stuff from their shop.

Just a heads up that BO actually has a pretty nice doorbuster deal going on right now: Falcon and the Winter Soldier 12 box case for $300.

The addition of sketch cards in this product is an added bonus...chasing one of those quad autos or a cool sketch.

I see BO did restock, but at $400 now. I had a feeling that the price would increase since it was a doorbuster deal. Glad I saw it this time, and was able to get in an order for a couple of cases.

Then Fortnite Series 1 cases have been marked down. They’re an absolute banging deal. You can rip those and sell Legendary, Epic, and Holo singles all day with very little risk. The Black Knight from that set is a big card as well to chase.

Nope. I’ve raked ripping and grading these when they’ve gone below $500 a case - which doesn’t happen often anymore. You can look at completed items on eBay and pull info. There’s several cards from series 1 that have sold over $250 in the past 90 days. It’s a $400 gamble and that’s low risk given the sold information that’s readily available. And for the record, about 50% of holofoils that come out of this are gradable. Around 70% of that 50% gem for me. That doesn’t include that a single black knight base in a 10 can cover the cost of 2- cases. I pulled 3 out of 4 cases of JUST THAT CARD last year and two of them gemmed (one I sold for $700 and one I sold for $600). It’s irrelevant anyways. It’s sold out now.

Winter is so much worse then wandavision. Ripped 15 wandavision as well at $300 a case was great.

Blister cases is sold out at $400. However, the Fat Pack cases they marked down to $1500 from $2400. That’s $75/box. There’s several sold listing for between $118-$188 in the last 90 days.

Part of the issue with blowout’s listing is they don’t specificy the print country. They’re USA based on any order I’ve placed. The USA ones carry a premium.

It is, but at $300 per case…it’s a pretty low risk rip..not sure it will get that low again.

Fortnight a blister cases have reloaded but at $480 this time. BO is on to you guys!!!

Looks like BO figured out relisting Falcon and the Winter Soldier cases at $400 was too high, so they lowered them to $350.

They actually lowered them back to $300, sold out again at that price, and then relisted at $350.

Dang I missed $300 on F&WS. I understand a lot singles could be bought cheaper, but entertainment value of breaking/ripping entire case is worth something.

I wonder how much Upper Deck Marvel MCU products are left sitting in warehouses or stores. I'm still hunting for cases/boxes to break for fun. I doubt we see anything MCU from Topps until 2026 and it will probably be super expensive.

F&WS $399 now. I wouldn't be shocked if they drop it to $349 again, and try to get people on FOMO... I'm patient and will wait for $300, nice try BlowoutCards.

Their current sale is AWFUL.

We really did get spoiled last year with all the 50% off Marvel deals on epack. Boxes of Looney Tunes metal are so cheap now it would make sense to discount those (I'd go for a few)
