Guaranteed 4 numbered parallels per box, 6 refractors per box. Hobby boxes will contain 12 packs per box, 6 cards per pack
https://www.topps.com/pages/topps-chrome-marvel Preorders on 20th May and this time in the US too following the acquisition of the license so the secondary market will fall in line with other US IP releases. |
No surprise. I do think some of the secondary appeal of the 2024 set was the somewhat limited nature of it being dropped on Topps UK. US collectors still could get it but it was a bit of a workaround. This set will be way more accessible, and secondary probably won’t go as nuts.
|
The only surprise to me is that they announce it 4 days before pre-orders. Is this just how Topps does it?
|
there's fake character signatures

The UK nonsense was a pain. And the worst thing about buying from them, is ebay is trying to build that network over there that isn't really established yet. So you end up with a lot of garbage sellers who cancel or don't know how to ship. I bought a box last year that was sent in a bubble mailer. As you can imagine it ended up being a bit mangled by the time it got here. It no longer had the shape that Topps originally intended. And ebay does not hold anyone over the accountable for anything. Glad this one is a US release finally and I agree, it should be readily available and not have crazy secondary prices. My family has talked about a Disney cruise on the newest ship that has the Marvel theme going for it. It would be fun to take some of this and let my son open it while cruising the seas. |
Yippee…I guess. At least with this new Marvel paradigm I’m saving a boatload, and my wallet is thanking me.
|
^ back to Fank Miller sketch cards.
Is this the only artist included? |
And how limited, and will they all be Daredevil-related again?
(His cards were VERY lackluster, but I know it's going on name recognition at some point...) |
^ back to Fank Miller sketch cards.
Is this the only artist included?
theres more this time judging by the description |
Getting ready to buy one of the 200 boxes that will be available on the Topps site.

“Look for relic cards of Marvel Zombies 20th Anniversary and X-Men Giant-Size 50th Anniversary”
Are these comic cuts? Or some type of manufactured relic? |
Are these comic cuts? Or some type of manufactured relic?
This is the company putting out fake autos of characters. I'd guess they are manufactured relics. |

Only 12 packs per box? Hope the price reflects that.
|
Little dissapointed there is only 1 autograph per case. Guess it all depends on price point.
|
Looking forward to seeing a box break. I was thinking about getting some of the base or an interesting insert to chase. Not looking all that promising so far. Captain America looks pretty good.

they aren't even real autographs, so does it really matter? marketing fake autos as a product hit really is the bottom of the barrel |

2025 Topps Chrome Marvel
Also interesting how Topps is using that very impel 1990 Marvel Universe-esque design for that Wolverine. Makes you wonder what other 90s designs are fair game to be mimicked by topps even though Upper Deck owns the fleer brand (and many thought only they could use the retro designs). Unless this is just considered different enough.

Marvel did a few covers in the old impel style a couple of years ago. So I’m not sure that Upper Deck has exclusivity on that particular design. marketing fake autos as a product hit really is the bottom of the barrel
Well the real Captain America is too busy to sign. I don't know why people crap on these so much. Yes, they're fake. Of course they're fake. How is it any different than other hits that aren't autographs? It's a card that is a tough pull no matter what's on it. |

Would rather have a fake auto like this than a manufactured film cell or whatever else garbo Upper Deck would throw in as hits. Cool, a manufactured letter "U" with a photo of The Punisher on it. |
I actually had fun spelling out R-O-C-K-E-T back in the day. I actually just subbed that set to COMC. It was a quirky idea and at least they didn’t not did it once and didn’t drive it into the ground like some other inserts (like stax).

That's fine, it's not the worst collectible, just that if I were opening a box, I'd rather get a fake auto than a random letter or a comic corner or whatever else Upper Deck would do. I remember getting the letter E and a shadowbox card in a box of Marvel Premier. |
EQL.
Fun. |
Price guess? Or was it already announced? I don’t see it.
|
Reading last year’s thread it looks like that one came in at £180/box which is like $240. So probably higher than that unless this year is significantly watered down vs last year.
|
Here's what Topps posted:
2025 Marvel Comics Chrome (Pre-Order) Tues. 5/20 - 12PM EST 6 cards per pack, 12 packs per box 4 numbered parallels per box Hobby Box: $239.99 Topps posted a mockup of blasters. 10x! :flex: https://x.com/Topps/status/1924498225353887803?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet Blasters could be fun if they include the majority of Hobby parallels. |
Does that say $239.99?
|
Does that say $239.99?
You don't want to pay $3 per card? Considering 48 of the 72 will just be base commons worth a quarter. |
Hope to find blasters in the wild. I’m guessing GameStop might be getting this in as it appears they have recently upped their trading card assortment.
|
$240 a box looooooool

So by that logic you would be ok with manufactured film cells or a Punisher "U" as long as they were rare hits? |
So by that logic you would be ok with manufactured film cells or a Punisher "U" as long as they were rare hits?
Nope, give me the fake auto over the other one since I never said anything rarity to begin with. |
240 a box is pretty much what 2024 was at in UK
|
Im a big pmg marvel buyer and have really enjoyed upper deck marvel for years
It’s only been a couple of Topps products. But I have zero interest Same thing happened with Star Wars |
240 a box is pretty much what 2024 was at in UK
$240 for the pre-order. Wait for it to actually release at a 10%+ increase than pre-order price. With more parallels and bigger print run. :flex: |
$240 for 4 parallels? For real?
|
it is crazy that licensed kakawow marvel you cant give away with fake autos also and tons of color but topps chrome will be reselling for $400 a box since no one will get eql boxes and breakers will pump the crap out of this.
|
kakawow is also like 2-3 numbered that are mostly very high #...

At this point people are just paying for the name Topps. What so special about chrome again? Is there anything here you can't find in a hundred other sets? |
At this point people are just paying for the name Topps. What so special about chrome again? Is there anything here you can't find in a hundred other sets?
Yes I agree. It is just sad that this is now the future of marvel with topps fanatics. Chrome Chrome and more Chrome. I will have to go back and collect some other ud sets that I didn't before. |
240 a box is pretty much what 2024 was at in UK
the initial pricing was 120 pound per box (sapphire was 320) that equates to about 140 USD at the time (now its 160 USD) No thanks but you do you I mean there are people buying the 24 release at $600+ to bust for hits....(LOL) |
120 GBP? Are you sure? I saw it at 185 GBP/215 EURO.
|
120 GBP? Are you sure? I saw it at 185 GBP/215 EURO.
The first time it was up it was at 120 GBP. No idea why now it says 185 even though it has sold out for a long time, maybe they had a 2nd wave on the webstore at higher price edit: Funny enough on the Topps Runfair EQL website it list as 215....they definitely jacked up prices |
Btw my personal thought on Topps/Fanatics is to stay away from sealed for a bit if you are into that. They are absolutely milking /pumping the book on revenue/earnings growth for the IPO, whose window is shortening. Products are getting worse/more watered down at higher prices (EVEN higher) and there are currently enough speculative demand to buy it up, but as we all know spec demand is future supply....so

EQL is live for those who are interested.

4000 Blasters stocked and sold out in under 5 mins
|
damn i didn't know blasters would be available too. I would've bought a few. Anyone going for a hobby box or will this come down in price?

How much were they? |
How much were they?
They were $30 |
How much were they?
$29.99. |
I wonder if blasters will pop up at GameStop/Walmart/Target this week too?
|
How much were they?
29.99 and you could order 50 |
cant wait for flippers to try to sell blasters for $50 each on ebay. i see they have some exclusive lava stuff and iron man card but i wonder how much of # color you can hit in them.
|
I wonder if blasters will pop up at GameStop/Walmart/Target this week too?
Probably not, this was a Topps pre-sale. Product releases June 16, 2025 according to the blaster description. Topps just got an interest free loan from everyone. |
29.99 and you could order 50
No wonder they sold out so quick. |
International Topps sites sold out fast on Hobby boxes.
|
If this was priced how WWE Chrome was, I would have gone for some. Above $200 is insane to me.
|
I put in for boxes but never won eql yet so don't think I will. I figured I could flip a few to lower my cost on 1 to open.
|
Biggest disappointment is that the images are just more recycled art, much of which UD has been using for years.
I've spent too much on Marvel in my life and one lesson I learned is that new art sells, reused comic snips do not. Would have been a buy at 120, I'll let others fight over it at 240. |

These boxes will be $400+ in no time. and blasters are up on ebay for under $90+ lol |

For me it enters the uncanny valley territory of appearing as something that it is not -- I clearly know it's not but why do this as the core concept of the card? I'm weirdly okay with the medallions and stamps from Masterwork but I can think of two similar feelings of revulsion I have had collecting cards: Panini (and to a lesser extent Topps) using "event worn relics" as relics in their cards. Like the tablecloth at Manny Machado's signing or some of the jumbo relics Panini used in National Treasures hockey that were just of jerseys they had the player put on briefly. Star Wars (was it Jedi Legacy) using source material relics for Ewoks & Chewie ... IIRC the fibers were from some costume shop in LA or something that provided the material to make the costumes. C'mon. Sure, those cards were all still rare but man, I would so much rather have a 1/10 Green PMG or Jambalaya or even a Chrome Gold Refractor /50 than Storm's "signature" being the cool thing about the card. If it works for others, more power to them but seems bizarre to me. Maybe it will grow on me? IDK. |
No luck email just received. Hopefully some of you guys got picked.
