eBay Standard Envelope Not Tracking Since Last Week
 

All of my ESEs have not had any tracking updates since Wednesday.

What gives?

I always get tracking within 24/48 hours. Nothing for me as well. It is strange.

I checked a bunch of cards I sold/shipped last week, as well as cards on their way to me and none of them have ESE scans.

My local hub is usually good about scanning, so something is definitely up.

Refunds and PIP insurance claims are going to skyrocket due to unscrupulous buyers.

I have GA package sent out last week, zero scans since the acceptance scan.

What label printer do you guys use for these? I use a Brother QL-710W. I love the printer, but for these, the font on the labels, and the code they are supposed to scan seems pretty small

So this is a system wide issue.

Is eBay even aware?

Yeah - not seeing much of anything on any of mine. I see a few in transit scans at my local hub but less than 1/4 of them have it. I also do not see many delivered scans - a few out for delivery on the 12th is what I see but nothing after that for sure at this point.

Same here with no tracking from items shipped in the last 4-5 days....but I know they are at least moving thru the system because I have received + feedback on 3 items that show nothing but "Tracking number provided".

The alarms will go off once the cases start rising exponentially

It would likely take a lot of claims for it to get noticed. Most people are honest and won't open cases but there are always bad apples.

Have had one I sent out on 2/11 and it's still stuck at origin processing as of that same date. Buyer hasn't left feedback for others in over a year so who knows what the true status is.

Just checked some of mine. Same issue, some with no tracking at all. Have gotten 1 “has this shipped” message so far. I’m sure they will be rolling in the next couple days.

Since Feb 4th I am seeing a lot of tracking hit main distro center here in VA and then nothing. I have plenty with Feedback and no delivery scan the last 10 days also. So 31 from the 4th to the 13th no update but 8 of them received Feedback.

Tracking has always been hit or miss but definitely seems to be a much higher percentage of ESE shipments not being scanned at all.

On top of that, I had around 10 ESE shipments returned to me on 2/14 marked "Undeliverable As Addressed". First and only ones to be returned out of hundreds of ESE shipments for me.

Maybe something changed on the inner USPS scanning systems that is affecting ESE shipments.

I have also shipped 100's ESE and for the first time ever in the past week none have gotten scanned at all. For the last month or so, they would get scanned initially but not marked as delivered.

They probably fired the guy unaware of that he was in charge of the tracking number dept

Just Google "postal service slowdown".

I am having issues as well. Some cards seem to be getting delivered as people are leaving feedback.

It seems to be everyone is affected by this.

Just saw a wild rumor that Pitney Bowes and the USPS had a 4 year contract that was not renewed....no clue how valid a reason that might be for the current lack of scans.

I surely have a plan and put it into play. Ended all of my ESE BIN until this is resolved. I don't have the time, nor the patience, to deal with multiple INR claims. At least I can afford to do this as it's just a hobby for me.

GA listings would have nothing to do with ESE tracking issues....all of my GA shipments are tracking per normal.

Interesting. I'm experiencing the exact opposite. Initial scan and then nothing. Starting on 2/10. Three separate different initial scan places and on different days and nothing after that.

I just hit the little blue "Chat" box in the bottom right hand corner of the PIP claim form....rep I talked with has seen no recent increase in claims and has heard nothing about any problem. Maybe too early for most PIP claims to be files if the situation just started last week....time will tell.

2 ebay reps i spoke with this morning said pretty much the same. They haven't seen any increase in INR cases yet. But as you said, give it some time, im sure if this is a seller-wide issue, we will see increases

I'm not overly concerned....not yet anyway. I was doing PWE type eBay shipments long before the ESE program started....the problems then and now are about the same...few and far between.

I'm not super concerned generally about INR claims. But the problem with no scans at all, which are a bunch of mine at the moment, is when some buyers think you haven't shipped at all and are lying to them. I've ran into that a few times unfortunately

I kept those active. I [I]did[/I] have a hockey jersey that was shipped GA on Feb 11 to Corpus Cristi TX. It arrived in Dallas on the 13th but wasn't delivered until the 18th. At least there were tracking notifications so I wasn't worried.

I hope the current ESE tracking problems are just a temporary glitch in the system....the glitch gets fixed and all the back tracking is posted so you would be able to see which buyers might be scammers who actually did receive the cards they claimed non-receipt for....eBay sees this and bans them.

Thanks for doing that. Would be nice if ebay would just put a disclaimer on their website of this being an issue or some kind of release from them that sellers can send to any buyers asking.

Just had someone request a return because the eBay tracking hadn't updated, so I used this and, lo and behold, the package shows delivered. I've reached out to eBay to see what they want me to do because when I try to put the '00' courier tracking into the "update tracking information" on the request I get an error. I'll send this guys username so you can block them when all is said and done.

I waited until the next morning and ESE label printing is working.

I have 23 ESE letters missing since the 12th? No scans at all

Based on what I was told by @askebay, they put the tracking in their notes and to let the dispute run until it asks if I want eBay to step in. At that point they said eBay would rule in my favor and not refund.

Thought it was just me. Came here and saw this thread. Was at almost a 95% origination scan (at minimum) rate going back 2-3 years.

My last 15 or so ESE this week have not been scanned. Strange phenomena.

Hopefully the eBay IT team is working on it (a guy can dream) :cry:

Since Feb 2nd I have 25 intransit and 22 Label created not including the 3 I did last night to see if the ESE was printing. Nine of these I received Feedback from buyers. Even though we are covered by PIP Claims we still will lose money. Not all of my shipments were at the 69 cent rate several were at the $1.25. Even If I said all 37 that have no FB come for claims at 69 cents this is a $25 loss. I think with most of us we can absorb a 2 or 3 ESE loss when you are talking 10 or more a week this could be catastrophic for some. I imagine Beau Spence would be hit really hard with his large amount of mail-outs.

Also, ebay has no plans to release any type of a statement or notification to buyers. I asked ebay if they could, or if they could give sellers some sort of store fee discount since we are doing ebay customer service. It was a long shot but they are refusing to do anything

And yes, I propose we start a list of folks claiming to not have recieved their cards when it shows delivered.

Thank you, thank you! I was not aware on how to use the 003xxxx numbers until now. I just put all my purchases and sales which ESUS doesn't show moving into a sheet with the tracking link just in case people start flipping out.

It's weird even if the contract is over because the ESUSxxxx is just metered mail and should that really matter, or yes it's really all on ebay's side with a glitch that someone made while trying to "fix" something else

Because we don't know the real time dates involved, there is a chance that he really did not receive the card, not yet anyway. The ESE "delivered" tracking updates are often off by a day or 2, and they have always been this way.

And based on that users' feedback, I would personally assume it was not delivered. Or not delivered yet.

I didn’t mention it, but the tracking says it was delivered on the 14th, so even if you gave it a couple of days, it should be there by now.

Its not a contractual issue with Ebay, USPS or pitney bowes, it is a technical issue on ebays end

I am irritated as well, but really the only thing that will fix this is if MORE people comment on my post on the ebay forums and MORE people contact ebay. They'll get annoyed with it at some point and fix it

So you UPLOAD these numbers 003102022075400136 from the ESE conversion to EBAY and they update ?

I personally would not want eBay to make buyers aware - it will encourage the dishonest buyers to be more dishonest.

The one or two people who reach out about not receiving their card, I can handle.

No...they don't update on eBay....but you can see all the tracking details from label creation to "delivered" on the parcel tracking website.

I tried it....they do not update tracking details on eBay. It appears the 003xxxxxxxx number is internal for USPS only.

ParcelsApp is the same thing BuySportsCards uses. I see how the method described above gives more records, but it's not quite foolproof. I had a BSC shipment show up on my Informed Delivery and shows Delivered that I haven't received. Local carrier issue, who knows, but it's been a week and I clicked the "didn't receive" button on Informed Delivery the same day and nothing yet.

I am sure that is true, but it is more of a one off issue compared to the larger issue of all these ESU items not being logged at all. I was unaware of this issue until yesterday, but I do appreciate the information given here.

You guys are wonderful. Thank you for sharing those links. I was able to send screenshots and notify all my buyers that were impacted with no tracking updates. Thanks, all!

Something else to consider now - I just noticed my "tracking uploaded on time" metric has gone from .02% to .20% in the last day.

I generally ship within a day, so I know it's not accurate. It seems like all the non-tracking ESE are bumping that number up quickly.

I'm pretty sure that those will go away on their own over a few days....at least mine have for ESE shipments.

I wondered what was going on with recent ESE's. glad I found this thread. super annoying and an issue eBay needs to get corrected ASAP

I am at 100% across the board still which is strange considering I had items go out monday that still have not been scanned . I guess we will see next week what is up.
