Mostly hockey but I did open some Marvel Platinum packs and will open some Marvel if "A Marvel Sale Is Live"ever becomes true.

Yep. If Disney cards can just disappear, we might not get any big clearances on Marvel. It might get completely wiped off the website without warning.

Epack has been having constant Marvel sales for a couple months now. I'm sure their Black Friday sales will be the 25-50% of the usual suspects. I might bite during their 75-90% losing the Marvel license sale at the end of the year.

UD should start heavily discounting individual Marvel sets at random without any notice.

Exactly, that's why it's strange there's no sale happening today (yet?).

Moving the product at just 25% less will boost sales and still net UD more than what any 3rdP will give at the end of the day.

Who really knows what will happen next week... or in five weeks.

They did have a sale earlier this week, I snagged some Fleer Ultra Wolverine at 25% off. Don't think it was announced in their news section.

Today's the Max Headroom incident anniversary! Prescient timing.

It's weird the Disney sets would disappear. Those are all stored at COMC and not packed out, so what would be the point of having COMC ship those back to Upper Deck? They don't really have enough value to try to sell to a wholesaler/repacker. I'd think they'd make more selling the packs at 90% off.

Unless Disney won't let them do deep discounts because it hurts the brand or something. Usually no discount rules only apply for the first few months a product comes out though.

Or perhaps the Disney license had a different end date than Marvel? They acquired the Disney license years after they got the Marvel license.

They just released Premiere and they want that pack at the top of the page for a few days. Sale packs push all the new releases further down the page. It make sense that UD want the new high end product featured with no discounted products to bury it. I suspect a sale will drop today (maybe) for the weekend. I’ll be shocked it they don’t drop a sale on Monday (and more as we his Black Friday week…).

There was speculation in another topic that maybe UD sold the Mickey Mouse and Lion King cards to a third party and had COMC transfer the cards to the third party’s COMC account. No cards were physically moved.

It’s a possibility but unless more information comes to light, it’s just speculation.

We will definitely get something for Black Friday and maybe even something as early as tomorrow. COMC’s big Black Friday week promotion starts tomorrow (Monday). So there should be no shortage of card discounts this week.

No new sales this morning on e-Pack and the same Black Friday deals at the Upper Deck Store website. There are 12 different Marvel blaster boxes available and even with the Buy One Get One Free deal it's not worth buying any of them. I've been watching the blaster boxes, curious if UD will heavily discount to sell out before the Marvel license ends.

I did buy an autographed Evangeline Lilly Hobbit mini poster ($124.99 discounted to $24.99) as a Christmas gift for a friend. So that's something.

I was hoping for a buy 2 get 1 kind of deal today on packs/boxes (-33%) but, alas, nada.

We are in a weird spot where they just released Unbound Season 4 and they don’t want to cannibalize any sales of that 3-day old product by introducing steep discounts of the other Marvel stuff. I think there is still time for more additional sales before they lose the license, but also I think UD likely has a contingency for the unsold stuff that doesn’t necessitate a huge Notre Dame level discount… kind of like how the Disney stuff disappeared from ePack a couple weeks ago. I’m still curious as to where that pops up. The number of claimed cover cut achievements in Mickey Mouse has not budged.

Probably D&A. Their "exclusive" women of marvel release makes me think they have some agreement with UD to buy out remaining stock, I guess its possible it needs to be repackaged or something so they can sell it as boxes/cases

75% on e-Sports, digital hockey packs, Canine Collection, and Team USA football have all happened before. Spider-man No Way Home just sold out at 75% off in hours.

Only 90% off sale I've seen was when they liquidated Notre Dame. That sold out very fast.

Very interesting to see the '92 Platinum hit epack. That will be very popular, knowing that the window will be very short til the license is completely transferred.

Are my hopes for 75-90% off sales dashed? Time will tell...

I'll be more shocked if they just pull products vs. doing a huge sale on them.

No Way Home I thought was odd choice to make 75%, but maybe that Spider-man Sony license had different end date. When did Into Spider-verse sell out? I just noticed that wasn't in the store anymore.

I want Allure too, it's the last Marvel product I've bought on there. I know sales are tempting but I'm not buying something just because I see a discount, the only set leaving I like is Fleer Throwbacks 89 but most e-pack only sets aren't very popular so makes sense to just get singles.

My guess is this is coming in early 2025. This product isn’t being opened, achievements aren’t being redeemed. Even at 25% off. 50% has to happen at some point
