Oh wow those look very clean.

I like the design. I'm hoping the eventual Undisputed set looks this good.

ill miss some panini sets but on card for the base chrome set is already an improvement

Edges on at least some of these appear to be deckle edge.

The corners of the inner frame/border not going up equally is driving me crazy lol.

What's "Sooner than you think"? I think most of us expected this early next year as it's clear WWE is rushing out their final sets as the deal ends. Pre-orders for UFC Chrome also went up the same day they announced their return, prob same for WWE.

Since Fanatics nor Panini have told us anything, it was mostly just guessing. Blowout mentioned in another thread it would be next year sometime without any other details, The Athletic mentioned 2026 which seemed dubious but was the only "major" publication to put a date on it. If I had to guess I would have figured they'd finish the 2024 season which last year ran until April/May/June.

Gun to my head I would have guessed WWE returning to Topps early next summer but it would have just been a guess based on the various clues. So if this set releases in first quarter 2025 I'd have said that was a little sooner than I thought, although not dramatically so.

I do wonder if Ciampa got a text message about posting that, I don't think they wanted THAT to be the way we found out.

So they have chrome, and sapphire already lined up. Why didn't Topps do a sapphire set before the license ran out the first time?

This podcast clip mentions that the license is rumored to end in January, with a grace period until the end of March, and also mentions four products slated for the summer onward for 2025. I'm not sure how reliable they are, but given ehat we're seeing, they might have been right.

You really just had to follow the trends with UFC to see this will come out likely before June, UFC Chrome was March 20. I get everyone doesn't follow UFC products though.

It depends if Topps give Panini any grace period though since there's a thread on Flawless which hasn't even been announced, and posts of wrestlers signing cards. So unless they are redemptions and this releases within a month Panini WWE is going into early 24. Upper Deck has a bunch of Marvel sets releasing despite losing the license as well, that likely all won't hit by 24, so maybe something changed and some deal was made to allow a smooth transition and release the final sets, in that case I'd have to adjust my timeframe lol

I think these are pretty ugly, but let's see the whole set.

I'm not sure I want Topps to handle it right now.
Panini is doing a fantastic job outside of price hikes, and a little of that pause at the start the year.

Select 2023 was like $180 I believe, I paid $150 off myslabs and now 2024 is $225 off Panini.

Also I think we saw either Immaculate or Impeccable at a REDICILOUS price

Plain was always my problem with almost all the sets Topps made in their previous era. They had some good stuff here and there but Panini really put them to shame imo.

Exactly, Panini had some really good photos. This was one area where I thought they outshone Topps by a longshot. Not to mention the much more expanded checklists.

Overall, Panini's designs & photo selection clear Topps. Unfortunately, we're dealing with a less appealing product for the same high prices.

I'd care significantly less about the designs if hobby boxes were back around $100, but I won't hold my breath for that to happen.

The design is not the best but I'll still get what I can for my big list of people.

Not gonna lie, Panini > Topps. But I’ll still grab a few boxes lol

Base cards are WAY overdesigned. Keep it simple, why have 17 borders going in every which way?

Panini did have on-card autos, even most of the low-end NXT set had on-card. The thing is stickers are already what is used in other Prizm products for example, not saying it's right but they aren't gonna go on-card just for WWE. Now the last year they have definitely done some sticker dumps on sets that would traditionally and should be on-card, no disagreements there.

On-card is great for Topps I just worry about prices as this isn't 2018 anymore plus they have to recoup on the deal.

Saw Tatanka posted some unsigned auto cards....looks like multiple 1/1 autos and cards out of /2 are on the checklist lol

Not Allen and Ginter, SMH. I hated in the past when Topps would just use their baseball designs on the WWE sets. Never been a fan of A&G.

Before someone chimes in yes I know there is a different collector base for Flawless and Topps Chrome lolll but with Flawless being the final Panini release heading into Topps, the inscriptions are a nice way to stand out even from other on-card sets. Felt like Panini releases had minimal inscriptions. The "Rhea Bloody Ripley" inscription they showed that parallel is also gonna be pretty sick if Kane's in it since it's a flame parallel lol

As a 20+ year CM Punk "mark"....I definitely want that auto.

I don't mind the inscriptions but the only one I've seen that's good thus far is the Rhea (which isn't posted of course lol). Cody putting two meant his auto is now over the guarantee and going off the white and world is barely visible on the Punk. I wouldn't care as I'm sure they boost value and I could just sell but not loving the placement so far (Rhea aside)

These Chrome on-card inscriptions are far better chases than anything Panini has been able to offer in recent memory. I guess Impeccable/Immaculate had a few cool 1/1 inscription autos, but that's about it.

Cards look fire to me, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm assuming they will print the hell out of these, not saying it won't sell out kinda quick at the first drop but it won't "crash the website for two hours" sell out I don't think. Wrestling is way below Disney in the popularity department and these boxes won't be scarce.

I'd be ok with $250 but if they go over $300 I'll probably wait it out.

Perception is everything with Fanatics. These will "sell out" in less than ten minutes. They suck.

I don't think it will be too low as it's Chrome, Topps WWE usually had paper sets which were much cheaper than Chrome so they can't go too low imo because it doesn't leave much wiggle room then if they do products like Heritage or some other paper set. On the other hand Chrome may be the new low-end as tennis/UFC have both gone mid-high end since Chrome and haven't don't paper sets yet.

Also don't forget Topps retail is a good alternative to hobby, it'll be nuts if there isn't any stickers and they do a one auto mega route like UFC, prob not lol. Regardless Select aside you'll be able to hit prob some of the top cards out of retail, I never had luck with Panini but have literally pulled a Ruby Riott superfractor from a Topps blaster as well as a Rock Finest Returns Gold /50. I'm a alot more excited about Topps retail than I was panini.

UFC Chrome was the first Topps UFC release in 2024. I think MSRP was $240 a box or around that. It's currently selling for $185-$190 a box. It's been between $150-$200 basically since a month after release. 2023 Prizm UFC is selling for $450 a box. 2023 Select is $290. 2023 Optic is $190.

2023 Prizm WWE is selling for $180 a box. Every similar to Topps Chrome 2024 WWE Panini release is selling way below where it seems you guys are projecting this to be and sell out quick.

Prizm - $180
Photogenic - $185 a box (only because it's more limited)
Select $185 - (selling below MSRP even with the first Giulia, Vaquer, and Fatu cards)
Three Count - $215

Even National Treasures is only $445 a box. These 2024 Panini releases are below MSRP. Three Count is barely above.

Not really seeing a market for WWE Topps Chrome at $250 or above per box unless there are some insane guarantees and/or inserts people really want.

I wasn't comparing the demand to Disney Genesis, just how poorly launched it was and how I'm sure WWE Chrome will be just as big of a cluster.

I'm still going with $199 on Topps.com. Make people think they're getting a deal when in reality, they'll likely be getting $20 worth of cards per box on average.

Not trying to disagree with the moss man, I don't need that smoke lol but there is a pretty big difference with Topps Chrome UFC being all-sticker and Topps WWE so far seeming all on-card. I also think Fanatics values WWE highly as a property, probably higher than UFC judging by the massive showcase they got at Fanatics Fest. Again not trying to argue just saying unless they learned since UFC did drop super fast I wouldn't be shocked to see this at least same opening as UFC Chrome. Neither set has chase rookies, UFC had one more auto so not sure how that factors.

I'd pay $200 a box..oh wait I'll get nothing like every fanatics release

I dunno, but despite me personally not liking some of the designs in this Topps Chrome release, they're already destroying the Prizm run with on card autos. I'm ready to rip this stuff.
